Anniversaries . . .
Today is the Tenth Anniversary of the Loma Prieta Earthquake. It struck at 5:04pm on a Tuesday evening when I should've been downtown San Francisco but, luckily, was in Fremont, about five miles from home. I still remember when that earthquake hit . . . I'd felt others but I never felt anything like this one. One of the thoughts that ran through my head today as I picked up the 16-page anniversary section of the San Jose Mercury News was, "I wonder what happened to . . . " which was promptly followed by "Oh, cool, here's the story." Take a gander at the on-line section if you get a chance . . . it has some human interest stories that are touching and brings back a realistic tone to the time.
My parents were married 58 years as of Saturday, the 16th-- they're together yet . . . in heaven.
Christmas Craft Corner . . .
I know! I know!! I still owe you an address for the Fisherman's Warehouse-- I haven't gotten over there this week! I've started work on the annual Christmas Craft Corner-- you know: the one that Brian complains about! The thing of it is, he missed most of it last year 'cause I thought I should go easy on him being our the first "real" Christmas that we were together. This year he gets it . . . FULL BLAST-- BOTH BARRELS!!! He's totally lost and can't figure out where our kitchen table has gone-- he knew he left it in there last week . . .
Well, mostly I wanted to check out the composition of pages here so
that was the purpose which I seem to have accomplished. If there
are any problems with it, let me
know, okay? I'll probably update a little more often as things happen,
now that I have "control". (And, yes, Brian did edit me a bit before
. . . he probably will to a certain extent yet . . . I'll try to hold it
to a minimum, tho.)
