Bright and early this morning . . .

My niece, Natali, upon receiving her email notification responded:

Dear Aunt Marcia,

I am writing this from work so this will be short, but thank you, thank
you, thank you! That was a very beautiful musing! I nearly cried and I
was at work, so that isn't good! Thank you, though!

I hope you and Brian have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love,
Natali

PS: sorry I haven't been able to correspond this year, it has been hard
to keep up with anyone this busy year! I hope all is well!

Not that it was my intent to make her cry . . . according to her brother, Aaron, who hasn't seen the posting below yet, it is not unusual for her to be emotional-- she's like that . . . Aaron: that would be the Dykstra side of her so don't complain too much-- you're out-numbered by us!!

I haven't quite figured out Susan's internet connection capabilities yet but, she doesn't have "that kind of access" so she won't be able to see the posting until she goes to another sister's house for a visit the day after Christmas.  I think its got more to do with equipment they only use once every four or five years than the capability of their ISP.

Sunday's "Sacramento Christmas"

As Brian has mentioned, we went to Sacramento yesterday for Christmas with his sister's family: Barb and her husband, Mike have two beautiful kids: Alexandra Leigh at 3-1/2 years and Robert Michael at 2-1/2 months.  Both are beautiful with Alex being a bit shy and taking her time to warm up to us each time we go for a visit.

Robbie is starting to really develop a personality and actually let me hold him for a long time yesterday before crying.  When he saw his mother walking around, he could tell something was amiss because he wasn't used to see her in that perspective.  He has started to smile and giggle and play peek-a-boo . . . it is a lot of fun to see him grow!!

Then, there is Miss Alexandra, seen here not quite figuring out what her Christmas gift was but after a few more minutes of pulling things out, she started to get it:   And of course, after she figured it out, we took pictures of her WITH and WITHOUT her Tiara!

After we watched Alex change in and out of several more beautiful and different outfits, we were all worn out but Uncle Brian was in worse shape if only because she usually wants to have him help her fly into the Christmas tree or all through the family room or wherever.  As a result, Uncle Brian found himself falling asleep quite easily on Alex's lap as she ate (Yes, she CRUNCHES!) a candy cane.  Her father is off-camera giving her instructions on how to make sure that Uncle Brian remembers that he chose to sleep in her lap while she ate a candy cane.
