Sleepless in Sunnyvale?

This morning, unbeknownst to me at the time, Brian and I had our separate "Sleepless in Sunnyvale" moments: I awoke at 12:15 with a gnawing urge to go back to sleep but finding it quite impossible to do so.  After about twenty minutes of pretending to be a salad, I got out of bed, poured a glass of water and perused a few websites, and settled down to play a rousing game of "Crazy 8s" against a formidable, but silent, opponent.  At about 1:45 or so, I crawled back into bed hoping to get some more sleep and, of course, awaking this morning to wanting even more sleep!  Oddly, however, as Brian mentioned in his posting today, he had the same experience but his took place (apparently, because I was finally asleep, I don't know for sure) a few hours later.  I wonder if it had anything to do with the VERY full moon?  Hmmm, don't know . . .

Christmas on Thursday?

In my office, we have two part-time people who are going to be in the office tomorrow so, no, your individual calendars are not off, our office calendar is just running a bit fast.  We're ordering in Chinese take-out (makes perfect sense, doesn't it?), taking over one of the main conference rooms, and exchanging gifts-- we are the only department that isn't "allowed" to leave the building this week-- they'd all be too concerned that we wouldn't come back from lunch and there are too many contracts to finish before year end to do that!  Okay, maybe I'm exagerating just a bit but we were asked, in a very suspicious manner, what we were going to be doing as a department for our holiday celebration . . . could be we're just continuing our general suspicions!
