Action-Packed!!

We have had an action-packed weekend-- Brian's was actually more frustration-packed but, it all equals out in the end.  Yesterday, I did get my nails taken off-- in a much more gentle manner than the one that I lost on Wednesday (Ouch!).  I had them dissolved and, let me just say that it is very quiet as I type this update!!

I also got my hair cut and re-styled in a "Jaclyn Smith" style.  Now yesterday, when I got home from the salon, I couldn't tell the difference but, this morning, for grins, I set it with hot rollers and-- VOILA!!  My hair came out looking just like the picture that I took with me to the salon!!  I couldn't believe it!!  You know you have a really great hairdresser when your hair comes out exactly like the picture when you do your own hair!!!  If it comes out like the picture when the hairdresser does it, it doesn't mean anything but to have it come out perfectly when you do it yourself??  Now that is truly amazing!!!

We went out for dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant but couldn't get into the movie "Traffic" that I'd exchanged with Nina for "A Knight's Tale".  I'll get that back tomorrow and give her "Traffic"-- just couldn't get into it.

This morning, after the usual Costco and grocery store runs, I started laundry and Brian continued working on my computer.  I was just about finished with the laundry when I fell asleep on the sofa for a bit but, other than that, I've been working on Christmas ornaments with a little crocheting in between.

We picked up a television so that I can watch either the news or VCR tapes when I bicycle in the mornings (and at night) so that should be fun.  The time will definitely go a little fast, that's for sure.

Semi-Current Event

That brings us up current on the weekend-- one thing that's a leftover from last week is that I had an email conversation with Delanae Crider (I'd link you but its not active so . . . ), the former Netwidow.  During the course of our conversation, she sent me a video of her singing a song with their choir at church-- that girl can sing!!!  Wow!!  I was really impressed-- yes, Jim always says she's a good singer but that's him saying it!  Trust me, however, he is not lying-- she is really good!!!  If you're interested in seeing/hearing the video, let me know-- Delanae said I could send the link to people if they asked (you must have a high-speed internet connection) so let me know.

Turkey chili's on the stove for dinner and leftovers for the week so I'd bettter get going-- thanks for stopping by and your patience in not hearing from me for the weekend!

Have a nice evening!!

More Goodbyes

Today was the very last day that my manager was going to be in the California office working.  She's been bouncing back-n-forth between Maryland and here for two months now but, she and her husband are finally leaving on Sunday for the drive cross-country to their new home in Maryland.  We had yet another going away for her today.  What is this-- the third "celebration"?  My diet can't stand her being around to say goodbye to every week but that is the only reason that I'm happy she's finally moving.  She's a really good manager because she doesn't hover but she does answer questions when they arise and, most importantly, she makes decisions and takes the blame even if they are bad decisions.  I'm glad she'll still be managing me even if it is from more than 2,500 miles away!!

And Still More . . .

Tonight is the last time that I'm typing my post while clacking my way across the keyboard.  Tomorrow I'm getting my nails removed-- I've had the acrylic nails for 4-1/2 years so it'll be a new experience not having them.  Since I lost one the other day, I'm finding I'm using that finger more than the others for everything-- apparently, I'm doing this in anticipation of removing the others.  Now, I'm getting really excited and anxious to do it-- it may or may not last but I want to give it a try.

And then, after my nails or off, I'm going to get my hair re-styled and cut a bit.  I call it a "Gypsy" style, kinda what the TV Charlie's Angels had for hairstyles.  Well, hopefully, it'll work on me, too.  I'll let you know how it comes out.

Bad Boy

I remembered something that I forgot to tell you from yesterday:  Remember back in August when I had a sales rep that thought he could sign documents?  I sent him an email, copied his boss and my boss on the email and his feelings got all kindsa hurt cuz I didn't just talk to him about it.  Well, he's done it again-- sorry, cannot claim ignorance this time!!  Do not pass GO and do NOT collect $200 or your commission if you keep that up, buddy!!!!  Yeesh!!!  He's been lectured and I've let John know that it happened again.  The scary part is: what else has he signed?  Well, its his house to lose, I suppose.

**********
Well, I'm going to go paint for awhile-- I just about finished the pants last night but, not quite so I'll probably finish them up, too.

Have a nice evening!

Blank!

Didja ever have one of those days?  I went to work, I stayed busy-- not extremely busy, just busy.  Can I remember anything I did?  Nope.  Nadda.  Zip.  Zilch.  Man, I hate that!!

*********
This morning I cycled for 20 minutes and then again, tonight for another 10 minutes-- definitely worthwhile and fun to watch traffic.  While its too cold to watch traffic in the morning, it isn't at night so I open the garage door and watch people in their cars going by and bicyclists bicycling by and roller-bladers roller-blading by . . . yes, I know-- you get the idea.

Anyway, I'm finally getting my tan pants pattern laid out on the fabric so I want to get back to that-- sorry so short but, I can't remember what happened today anyway!  If I remember anything, I'll come back later and give you another update, 'kay?  'Kay!!  Have a nice evening!!

Welcome back!

It seems that the more that I write in this journal, the more new email I receive from new readers!!  That's one of the fun things about writing this: making new friends!!  People come by to read my journals or to view pictures and "trip reports"-- I can tell by the search that come up that its popular because of my Meanderings page.   Whatever your reason for stopping by, your visit and emails are much appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by, and come back anytime!!

Only Wednesday??

I don't know if you noticed Tom Syroid's site for today but he's been having a rough week of Mondays-- a lot of "Grand Bothers" from what I gather.  Me?  I'm just exhausted!!  Half of me is saying "its only Wednesday" and the other half of me is saying "at least its Wednesday"!!  I've gotta assume that this is my own particular (and peculiar) form of jet lag from "traveling" with my cousin last week-- man, I'm tired!!

Projects Galore!!

So, I'm working on a pair of pants, Christmas ornaments and crocheting all at the same time-- not simultaneously, just each in their own particular state of work progress.  No wonder I'm tired!!

Work Progresses

That's about all I can say about that-- there's a lot of it but there isn't as much today as there was yesterday so it must be getting better.  A lot of thinking goes into re-drafting documents-- at least that explains part of why I'm tired!!

**********

Yes, yes!!  I'm tired and I'm going to do something about that tonight!!

I'm going to go to bed as soon as Star Trek's Enterprise is finished-- I've gotta!!  I'll only have half an evening but you have a nicefull evening, 'kay?

First and Foremost

My "trip report" from my cousin's vacation in California is up here!!  Yeah, I finished it at almost 10pm last night-- there were a lot of photos to re-size (106)!!  The reason that I keep using quotation marks is because I/we didn't take a trip-- we participated in a trip taken by someone else.  We had a good time and I think that's evident by the pictures-- ALL of the pictures!!

Family Stuff

Were my parents to still be alive, today would be their 60th wedding anniversary.  I've got a friend (Nina from my office) who is planning her parents' 60th anniversary party.  Its funny that you never forget some things, isn't it?

That reminds me: I've got to start scanning the pictures in from the family album.  That was one of the first things we did on Saturday night-- look at the album, that is-- when my cousin arrived.  It was really fun and brought back some more memories which is always a nice thing.

My sister, Sue, will be here in December and take the album back with her to Michigan; I'm not sure how it is going to get back to my sister, Nancy, in Maine who is the "Family Photo Album Keeper".  (How'dja like to have that for a title??)  Now that we have a photo-quality printer, I'll be able to mount stuff in an album for myself as soon as I can figure out where to buy acid-free photo mounting "paper".  Oh, goodie-- another hobby to do!!

Christmas Crafts

Because of my cousin's visit, the Christmas crafts have been put on the back-burner.  It'll come back out in a little bit-- I'm beginning to feel the need to get back out there and do it.  I don't think I'll be doing as much this year as I have in the past . . . other priorities, don'tcha know?

BIG News!!!

I keep forgetting to tell you something really important!! I have made the ultimate decision: I'm going to stop getting my nails done with acrylics; in fact, I'm going to stop getting my nails done.  We watched our wedding video a few nights ago and I saw how long my nails were then and I know I can't have them that long anymore and, frankly, gave up after seeing that video!  I want them to be super long and yet functional and, unfortunately, those two things don't go together.  I'm finding it very difficult to pick up pins and needless with these nails and, besides, I could use a break-- hopefully, that's not an intentional pun.

So, Saturday they come off!!  Yeesh-- I hope I don't regret it but, if I do, I know who to go to when I want to put them back on again!!

*********

I came home with an upset stomach today but I'm feeling a little better tonight.  I've got some low-fat macaroni and cheese in the oven and will go enjoy my comfort food shortly.   Go over and enjoy the scenery of the San Francisco tourist!! You have a nice evening!!

Update at 9:44pm

What a Day!!

Last night, I made the mistake of checking my work email from home-- very big mistake!!  I spent a lot of time thinking about the work that had to be done instead of sleeping-- not a Good Thing!!

When I got to work today, I finished a document that had one open question on it from before I left for vacation.  Then, I proceeded to get the next three fires almost completely put out-- I did get the next two documents out to the customers but, because I wasn't given all of the information, I wasn't able to finish the fourth document.  Bummer!!

That was the first round of HOT documents-- tomorrow, the next layer down gets worked on and, eventually, by the end of the week, I'll be able to open my mail from last week and get some documents signed!!

Apparently, it was a busy week last week: my manager almost called me in to stop my vacation because it was so busy!!  Who'da thunk since when I left, everything was finished and caught up!!

Cycling Fool!!

This morning I did 20 minutes on my bike and tonight, after work, another ten minutes before my knee started bothering me.  I did something to my knee-- I have a constant dull ache in my right knee which doesn't seem to want to go away (it bothered me last week to the point where we had to change our plans for Wednesday!).  That gave me five extra points on Weight Watchers tonight so I'm happy-- that's a Good Thing, trust me.

Still Working On It!!

Yes, yes-- I'm still working on it!!  The Trip Report for "My Cousin's Vacation to California" is taking quite a long time because of photos-- Brian went a little overboard with photography at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Gorgeous pictures but there are a lot of them to size down!!  I am hoping to have it finished later tonight and, if I do, you'll be the first to know.

On that note, I'm going to get back to it-- you have a nice evening!

Trip Report!!

Its up!!  Its done!!!!  Man, it took a long time but it was a fun week so that explains that!!  Enjoy and, as always, if you come across any incomplete or missing links, please let me know!

Thanks and have a GREAT evening!!
