Back At It-- Again!
Many things on my plate-- I'm trying to finish projects and hobby stuff and am realizing that I'm having trouble due to the fact that it is sooooo hot here today! This is actually the second day in a row that it has been in the 90s-- I'm sorry?? What happened to being "Autumn"? "Fall"? Must be we skipped both of them and winter and went directly to next summer!!! Man, it is hot and this is beyond "Indian Summer"!!
So far today, I've worked on a sewing project, crocheted, cooked my lunches, paid bills, gone to the fabric store and worked on the "trip report" for Barb's vacation. I guess you could say that I'm a little busy, huh? Oh, well, this too will pass!!
Tomorrow I go back to work and, according to my email, have more than two projects requiring me to finish them before I even get into the office. It is going to be a fun day, no doubt!! I'm going to continue to work on the trip report and crocheting throughout the evening and I'll let you know when I've got it finished.
In the meantime, have a great evening!!

Barb goes home-- bummer!!
I'm Back!!!
I'm tired but I'm back!!! Man, what a week it has been!! I've done a lot more walking than I've done in a long time and, learned a few things along the way. Learned? "Like what?", you say, well, did you know that it is more painful-- for days and days after-- to walk downhill?? It is a lot less painful at the time and afterwards to walk uphill-- who'd'a guessed?? San Francisco has a lot of hills, ya know? Yup, it has a lot of 'em, especially in the touristy parts of the city-- oh, but they don't say "The Hills of San Francisco", do they?? Yeesh!!
I'll do an official "trip report" with all of the pictures-- some of her photos will be included-- over the weekend but, for now, suffice it to say that we had a really great time!! Plans were messed with a bit but, overall, we did almost everything that she wanted to do while she was here. I'm embarrassed to admit that I did not get her to a beach while she was here-- she rode on the Bay, she saw the ocean from a distance but she did not touch beachsand the whole time she was here. We just ran out of time-- and energy!!
Barb helped to rekindle a hobby that I used to enjoy a lot-- sewing. I've got fabric to sew four articles of clothing and hopefully, I'll get them all finished. (I figured since I have a new sewing machine, I had no excuse not to at least try.) I believe that Barb also helped Brian understand the art of shopping-- its a gene-thang, don'tcha know. We just love to shop!!
My stationary bike arrived while she was here but I didn't need to use it until today! I've already done 25 minutes at 15mph which comes out to six miles-- hmmm, who'd'a thunk that I would be faster on a stationary bike?? Not me!! I'm excited about using it though-- it'll be fun to keep up!!
That's all for today-- I'll be back online with daily updates now, at least until the next vacation!
Have a nice evening!

Whatever we didn't see of San Francisco from the list under Monday, we'll see today-- plus there's Coit Tower and Nob Hill that we haven't hit yet.
Tuesday, October 9, 2001Happy Birthday, Sue!!!
Its my sister's birthday today!! She's older than me is all I can tell you-- I can never remember how old she is and she's glad!! If you'd like to send her a birthday greeting, her email address is here and thanks!!
Today's Activities
Tour of UC Berkeley campus and Berkeley's 4th Street area with my mother-in-law, Martha. We'll be having lunch with Martha as well somewhere up in the Berkeley area.
Four Weeks
And, on this four week anniversary of the beginning of the war on terrorism, I decided to post this which was in an email sent to me by my sister in Michigan. I think its very poignant and certainly worth thinking about in remembrance of today although some of you may find it a little preachy.
Monday, October 8, 2001 Today's Activities
Yep, that's us-- my cousin, Barb (on the right) and me!! Yesterday we walked the Golden Gate Bridge for a bit and Brian took this picture of us. Today, we're going to go to San Francisco to see Ghiradelli Square, Lombard Street ("The Crookedest Street in the World"), Fishermen's Wharf, Pier 39 (tourist trap), Alcatraz Island, and Chinatown.
