North of the Border

I had an email from Barbara Thompson tonight--  What a nice surprise, indeed!  I thought she would be out of touch for her trip but the hotel that they're at had a computer set up in the lobby for guests so she took advantage of it and fired off an email.  Of course, even though she's concerned about Lenore and wishes she could be there to help Bob, she is trying to have a good time-- as with the rest of us, Bob and Lenore are never far from her thoughts.  Take good care, Friend!

Stalemate Resolved

Yes, it is called "confrontation"!  I called up the "negotiator" and said, "I understand we're in a stalemate-- why?" and so we started talkig.  I eventually got the customer service rep on the phone and had him help me understand what it is that he was going to do with what they were going to do and, believe it or not, we resolved the stalemate.  The negotiator gave up the other two points that he was concerned about because I found language that we could live with in the one that he was concerned about-- that's what negotiation is supposed to be like!

Headaches-- Youch!!

I've had a headache for about ten days now-- mostly, it comes and goes but, it has been with me now for almost 24 hours straight.  At first, I thought it was stress but then we found a house.  Then I thought it was weather related but, it rained on Tuesday night but my headache continued.  Then I thought it was humidity related but we came back to the Bay Area so....I'm at a loss.  All I know is that I'm really getting tired of this headache-- a lot.

QT

I'm about to "Quit Torturing" you here and go under for awhile again-- I've got a feeling Brian's going to kill my computer off so he can pack it up soon.  That being the case, I might as well help him put it out of its misery.  I've warned the readers of my sister's site that there will be no updates for a month and, whether or not that's realistic, I might as well start sooner, rather than later.

Before I go, however, Sally has some pictures of playing with her Daddy that she wants me to show you so I'm going to update her page.  I also have to warn you that I may end up posting a random update now and then before we get to Maryland simply cuz I have to burn off steam-- bear with me during this transition.  This too shall pass, as they say.

Stay well-- thanks for coming by and have a nice evening, night, day and weekend.

Never Far . . .

Today would've been my mother's 83rd birthday.  Were she still alive, she would be mortified that I've told you her age.  As much as I love my mother, I do wish I could mortify her one more time.  Happy Birthday, Mom-- I miss you...yet.

Never Enough Time

There's just never enough time in one day to tell you everything that I want to tell you particularly after last week's trip!  Brian has three pictures on his website of the house.  The little things that were cute stories from the trip have escaped me already-- probably blocked them because of the trauma (I have to admit: I hyperventilated on Tuesday when we still hadn't gotten word about the second house!) of the situation.  Yeesh!!  Oh, well, there's so much more fun to come-- always an adventure around here, eh?

Stalemate?

Oh, really, eh?  I was told today by the end user that "we're in a stalemate" over the NDA.  Hmm, I didn't know that-- the last I knew, the "negotiator" asked me a question, I answered it but haven't heard anything more from him. I informed the end user that we had gone as far as we could go-- they want to own whatever it is we do to resolve their problem and, frankly, since they are insisting on a one-way NDA to protect their information, we can't even tell them what we did to resolve the situation.  I have cautioned them that we need to act quickly since I'll be out of pocket and in transition to Maryland soon-ish.  We'll see.  I have never seen anyone drag their feet so much over a non-disclosure!

Sally Ann

Well, I have to tell you that I was pleased as punch to see Sally last night-- man, did we ever miss her!!  She, being a little on the elderly side and sometimes a little on the light-haired side of the brain world, had me concerned that since she was having so much fun with Auntie Myrna and Uncle Roger and Laddie, she wouldn't remember us and may not want to come home.  Au contraire!!  She recognized me when she saw me-- didn't hear me calling her name-- and ran (as close to running as Sally does) across the room to me.  She began licking my face and sniffing my feet-- happy to see me!  Then, she found her "Daddy" and did the same with him!  What a happy girl!!  Did her "Hello Flip-Flops" all over the place-- beside herself with glee!!  She didn't even mind the drive home too much, laying down in the back seat of the car-- a rarity, indeed!!

Ah, its good to be home again-- jiggity-jig!!

*****
As always, thanks for stopping by and your patience and your emails.  Have a great evening!

Here I am!!!

Brian likes our travel plans to be kept secret.  We've both mentioned that we're going to head back east this month to find a place to live.  What you don't know is that we have been there for the past week.  That's one of the reasons that I can't post-- I don't lie about this sort of thing but, I can not tell you at all which is completely different.

Brian has been posting from the east coast since he has that capability.  I couldn't because my publishing system is set up differently than his even though we're on the same server.  Actually, there's probably a way for me to publish but I'm not all that concerned with it.

Our friends, Myrna and Roger, took care of Sally, as we've mentioned in our posts (I think we have anyway).  We dropped her at their house on our way to the airport, left our car at their house as well and then, Roger took us to and picked us up from the airport.  We were there Thursday evening (7/4) through Wednesday afternoon of the next week.  It is not a vacation for me-- I was expected to work on Monday and Tuesday at the office for a full day, both days and would have if things hadn't fallen apart on the first house half-way through Monday!!

And Now, More of the Story

Well, at least part of the rest of it.  Last week, I got the sales rep and the end user to initiate some contact with the "negotiator" on the NDA.  The end user called me back and told me he had spoken with the negotiator and everything had been resolved with one exception and so I should contact the negotiator.  I called the negotiator to iron out the details on the last item and, in addition to the fact that he didn't have time to take my call right then, he didn't have a clue of what I was talking about with regard to the open and resolved issues that the end user had mentioned.  So, I thought to myself, "So its going to be that way, eh?"

I apologized for my assumption (why would the end user lie to me-- nope, you're right, he wouldn't so therefore...), and told him I would send him an email to resolve the issues and another revision.  We will talk on Monday (since I'm off on Friday) and see what happens from there.  This guy is a real trip, let me tell you.

He wrote back to me on Friday with specific times that he was available on Monday but, I couldn't call him then due to the fact that I was waiting on the customer support person to call me with the answer to the question of how to resolve their problems.  I did send an email response and haven't heard anything more from him.  I'll check in tomorrow and see what he has to say...if I can tolerate him.

I wanna go take a shower-- why is it that you always miss your own shower or your own bed the most???  Dunno but it is true.  And thanks-- its great to be back.  More tomorrow-- have a nice evening!
