No Clue!!

I have no idea what hit me-- none whatsoever!!  After dinner last night, my stomach started acting up and I was at my sewing table when I suddenly felt the urge (but not the need-- thank goodness!) to be sick!!  Brian said I felt a little warm so I went off to the sofa.  Sally didn't know quite what to do since I took her side of the sofa and apparently, she didn't like the idea of sharing that end of the sofa.  After laying there for about an hour with my bucket at my side, I felt a little better so I had some hot cocoa to try to make myself feel better.  By bedtime, I was feeling a bit better but, I had to wonder since I'd been fighting a headache all week-- maybe I did have the flu of some kind??  Oh, well, its passed now so I'm okay with it.

Catch-Up of Stuff

Lots of work passed through my desk yesterday.  Unfortunately, I can't remember any of it any more but, oh, well-- I know I was busy all day.  After work, I stopped at the mall where I got my glasses and read them the riot act for not putting the tinting on my glasses.  I remembered asking for it-- Brian remembered me asking for it-- but I didn't get it.  Now, according to the guy at the store, they have to take the protective coating off the glass and tint and then re-do the protective coating.  They're doing it at no charge which is good considering it is their fault as far as I'm concerned.

I also finally remembered to bring Brian's leather jacket in to get re-lined.  He's had this jacket for about ten years which means it is only just broken in.  We have been trying to remember to bring this jacket in for about three years now-- we're always walking past the store in the mall!!  Finally, I remembered and I've even got good timing: his birthday is next month so guess what his present is going to be??  Yeah and he's happy about it, too.

This morning, we went to the Orchard Supply Hardware "How To Fair".  We had fun walking around and seeing things-- we saw Steve Thomas from "This Old House" and, since I had a question to ask him, we stopped to talk with him for a bit.  Brian tells me that the people behind us were getting impatient but we talked with him about the current project that they've got going and the budget for it (that was my initial question) and I asked if he'd been doing any boating lately.  He said he'd been able to boat to the job site every day during the summer last year and was pleased with that.  Nice guy and well worth the chat.

Tonight we're going to dinner with our friends Jan and Scott-- Mexican, as usual.  Im' looking forward to the food-- gotta craving for Mexican food!!

In between all of that, I'm quilting-- as usual.  I'm about to put the most recent project together-- that looks like it'll be finished tomorrow night but we'll see.  I'm not going to rush it.

This'll probably be the only post you'll get today so, have a nice afternoon, evening and night!

Save Early, Save Often

I had a conference call today with an extremely annoying, overtly arrogant attorney who enjoyed a great debate, even when I agreed with him.  What a jerk!!  People like that are so annoying, ya know?  Anyway, we got finished with the negotiation call and the sales rep and his manager and I regrouped on another call after it to compare notes, etc.  While I was on that call, my Word program died-- no reason, just died!!  Guess what?  I had made all kinds of notes and had not saved the document since the start of the phone call.  ARGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned something new about Word-- I don't know if this is true with all applications or just our very special version at my office but, I had to reboot the entire system in order to get to the recovered document.  What a hassle!!  I was imagining having to call the aforementioned jerk and tell him to repeat the entire two hours-- no, I was not pleased with the thought of having to do that, needless to say.

The good news is that my document was recoverable once I completely rebooted the system and, with all of the approvals in, we fired off another revision of the document that will, more than likely, be rejected by the Jerk again.  Yeesh!!

New Glasses

I did get my new glasses but I don't feel any need for an adjustment-- except for the tint!  I ordered and paid for a tint to be applied to the glasses.  They seem to have neglected to add that into the glasses.  My glasses are clear as day-- not a good thing.  I'm going to stop at the store on my way home from work tomorrow and either get them to apply the tint or give me my money back, whichever is the case.

Continued Quilting

The quilt top that I'm sewing is more difficult and challenging which is good-- I need a challenge now and then!  I had to cut up 45 pieces for the sashing, 20 for the squares that connect the sashing and 160 squares for the bits that attach to the 45 sashing pieces to join the fabric together.  Oh, yeah, lots of fun!!  Piecing all of that together is really going fast though which is, as always, amazing.

The hand-quilting on the inner top of the "From Scratch" quilt is just about finished.  There's going to be more of it probably but not for a little while because I need to finish the inner quilting before I move to the borders.  As I said before, the hand-quilting part is going faster than I had expected which is a pleasant surprise-- I figured I'd hate it and/or it would be too tedious but I am actually finding it to be a lot of fun.  That's a Good Thing!

******

Anyway, it appears that I've made it through another night's post without the silly thing crashing on me-- I have no idea what happened last night.  Oh, well.

Have a nice evening!

Not the charm . . .

This is the third time I've written this post!  My computer keeps crashing when I run the spell check so, I'll just use words that don't require checking to be finished with this thing!!  ARGHHHH!!!!!!

Okay, let's see: work was busy (I'm not going into details-- AGAIN!), I've got my new glasses which will hopefully stop the headaches, and it was warm today so the windows have been open since I've been home.  Sally's been sniffing at the smells and enjoying the sounds of having the windows open.

I'm going to go enjoy them with her-- have a nice evening and, more will come tomorrow when I only have to write it one time, okay?  Thanks for your patience!

Interesting Enough

Its been an interesting enough kinda day around here.  When I came in, I had NO EMAIL--yes, that is odd and, given the fact that it is "end-o-quarter month" around here, I was more than just a bit suspicious.  I was just about to send myself a test message when I received an email from someone so I had the age-old question of "Is my email working?" answered.

I had a couple of documents to work on this morning and, had a conference call come up that was handled within about 20 minutes.  That customer brought the phrase "female barracuda attorney" to mind . . . oh, yeah, a very pleasant person to deal with on a phone call!!

Anyway, it was a productive day with lots getting done and lots getting in my in-box for tomorrow.  Nary a dull moment, eh?

Somewhere in Time

At some point when I was getting ready for work, I had the brilliant idea of taking Sally with me to the office today.  It was a brilliant idea because it is always nice for me to have her around.  She's fairly self-sufficient with the exception of the not having opposing thumbs which makes it difficult to open doors or slide the badge past the security box to allow herself entry into the building.  If it were but for that, she would be even more self-sufficient but, alas, I still have to take her for her little jaunts around the building.  (And, yes, she's gotten over her shyness about public restrooms-- she's much more accustomed to using the outdoor facilities than on her first few trips to the office.)

Anyway, Sally had a nice visit and was really happy to see Auntie Nina and Auntie Joyce-- she definitely knows the two of them as opposed to the others that stop by my cubicle when she's around.

*********

While this is short-n-sweet, it is but for a reason-- I've got a quilt to work on and I haven't had much time for that since I've been home.

Thanks for coming by and have a nice evening!

Busy Day

Today was a bit busier than normal-- a little more work but in a steady stream rather than a flooding levy.  I left the office at 3pm, came home and bicycled and went back on the computer by 4pm when I received an email from a sales rep in the field asking for me to review an amendment.  I did that, cranked it back out to her, called my manager about something and, after waiting for the director to return my email, sent another document out to another sales rep after revising it.  It was as busy after I left the office as before I left the office!!  The next two weeks are the last two weeks in the first quarter of the fiscal year so it is definitely going to be a fun ride!!

Search Stats

I had a little spare time last week and researched some of the stats for my site which included, among other things, some of the things that have lead ya'll to this site:

pictures of cinnamon sticks - You need to get a life!!

a woman's best friend chain letter - This is a false statement-- a lie!!  There is no such thing as a "Best Friend Chain Letter"!!!  I hate them, I hate them, I hate them!!

attorney hypothyroid/attorney synthyroid - Unfortunately, you cannot sue the manufacturer for a bad thyroid gland-- or at least, it would be really tacky to do so.

buy a reflective pizza vest - This person needs to use quotation marks.  I know I can say with much certainty that I have never put those five words in the same sentence or in the same order in my life.  How they got to my site as a result of a search like that is totally unbeknownst to me!!

customer smelling necklace confederate interfacing - See what I mean?  Again, another set of five words that I know aren't in my site, in that order, anywhere!!  Quotation marks, people-- quotation marks!!

gun shops novato - Novato is a town in Marin County.  The fact that someone did a search on those three words and somehow were lead to my site is totally amazing to me.

how to dress for broadway play - Yes, I know how to dress for a Broadway play but, according to the people that we saw, most people did not know how to dress appropriately for a Broadway play!!

overcrowding invariable riddled marcia awaits - Yes, I must admit that sometimes overcrowding is invariable but I am seldom riddled by it long enough to await anything!!

Okay, enough-- you get the point!!  These are the things that I read when I'm bored-- things that have led people to my site.  Interesting how the webcrawlers do that stuff for you, isn't it?

**********

More sewing tonight-- making great progress on the new quilt.  I've only got a little more of the hand-quilting to do to the other quilt, too.  Progress being made all around!!

Have a nice evening!
