Slow News Day

We slept "in" for us until about 8:30; then, after rising and waking slowly, we went to the store.  I decided to make some beef soup and, in the process, clogged the sink/pipes somehow with the celery.  Nope, nothing much going on around here.

Brian has the pictures from the Maryland Renaissance Festival yesterday on his site-- again, it was a really fun day!!  (I even got a little of a sun tan out of it!)

Other than that, nothing much happening-- have a nice evening!

Much Better Day!!

Yes, thanks-- it was!!  Definitely a much better day!  Whew!  I was worried for a bit!

We went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival today and had a lot of fun.  Many things to do including watching a joust and some horse play and watching people in their full period costumes (one girl had blue hair-- literally royal blue-- which was, of course, extremely odd looking with the rest of her costume!) and others in every day clothes (like us).  Brian took a few pictures but mostly we just walked around and looked in the shops and enjoyed the shows and demonstrations (glass blowing and iron-twisting) that were being put on about the fairgrounds.

Even Better News!

I think I've figured out how to hammer down this headache: it is sinus because I've started taking Sudafed Sinus Headache and its WORKING!!!!  Yeah!!!!  I was fairly pain free most of the day which seems unusal at this point!  Hopefully, the allergy season will be over before my body gets too used to the medication and stops working!!

Well, its time for me to "do the chore" that I never want to do . . . before I go, however, you'll note that the link above has been updated.  Someone has been a busy girl during the day!!  She's had quite a bit of fun from the look of it-- hmmm, Malcolm (he who builds computers in his spare time) and Sally (she who uses computers in her spare time) are definitely learning some interesting tricks from each other!

Have a nice evening!

TGIF!!!

I had a really crappy day at the office.

Progress

Sally did well at the doctor appointment this afternoon; she had another blood test for baseline on the Rimadyl usage and another T4 test to check to see where her thyroid is at these days.

It Just Got Worse!

Then, I came home to realize that I'd locked us out of the house!  You see, before Sally and I went to her doctor appointment, I locked the front glass door because I wanted to leave my backpack/purse on the stairs and didn't want anyone to walk up from the sidewalk and steal it after I went up stairs to make a phone call.  When I came down, I couldn't unlock it so we left to go to Sally's doctor appointment via the laundry/garage door.  No big deal except that I had to unlock it to open it and then I re-locked it and we went out the overhead garage door, and I didn't think anything further of it.

When we got home from the doctor appointment, it hit me: we have no way to get in!!  I didn't have a key to the laundry/garage door and the front door way locked.  The slider in the back is locked, too, of course-- we were locked out.

I called Brian who packed up a few minutes early and then got stuck in Rolling Stones' traffic getting home.  All the while, I have a dog who doesn't understand why she isn't being allowed to go into the house.  She's standing outside the patio slider door barking, just like she does when she's ready to come in after being let out for a potty break.  Barking and barking!  Silly girl!!  Finally she gets that Brian isn't there so she lays down.  A few minutes later, she's up and barking again.  This went on for an hour, the monotony of it broken by a few games of ball and a quick walk.

We just got a chair set up in the garage when Brian pulled in, saving us from continued boredom and barking.  He didn't have a key either but he figured it out pretty quickly and in we were!

Yes, I had a crappy day, thanks!  And now its OVER!!!

Have a nice night!

The Age-Old Question

Barbara Thompson asked the Age-Old Question (or Question-o-Day, as I sometimes like to call it) and, rhetorical as it may seem to others, it is a reality.  I'd just like to know how she manages to pile stuff on my desk every day, too!  She's good, isn't she?  ;>)

Okay, so it isn't her that's piling stuff on my desk-- its Brian and, I'm sure, Sally has a hand (or paw, as the case may be) in it, too.  I find her vet bills in it so she must be doing it, right?

I swear I could do it every day and try to keep up but why bother?  It'll just get stacked with stuff when I'm not looking again so I just let it go for a week or so at a time.  Its much easier that way-- then I do one bunch of filing at a time and I don't lose track of stuff as easily cuz I know that bill or that check or that whatever is in this pile or this pile or that pile.

It makes sense to me, okay?

Don't Forget to Vote!

Since I don't want her dropping out of contention for cutest doggie in the world, here's a reminder about where to find the Sally Ann page at RateMyPooch.com.  Is it me or is she just absolutely adorable?  I think I'll talk with her about updating her page one of these days, too.  Its been awhile and I'm sure she has lots to say about the new digs and the squirrels in the back yard.

Sally and I have a vet appointment for her tomorrow.  This gives her many new things to look forward to:  her first ride in Blue, one of our new cars and her first check up after being on Rimidyl.  No, she won't be jumping through any hoops (but then she didn't before the Rimidyl, either!) but she will show vast improvement, I'm sure.

Headache Info

Thanks to everyone who has written to me suggesting different methods of relieving the headaches that I'm having.  Each in their turn, I will probably end up trying these different methods and let you know which one succeeds.  Since tonight is Thursday night and, essentially, a veg night for me, I'm going to take a Drixoral in an hour or so-- that way, I'll be in bed by 10 and, since I'm covering for both Judy and Lee (the other new negotiator-- remember her name for future reference, okay?) tomorrow, I'll need the extra sleep!!

Okay, so after shameless exploitation of my dog, I'm going to call it a night.

As always, thanks for stopping by and do take care and have a nice evening!

Not much . . .

. . . has been happening.  Its kinda slow since Monday, of course and Judy has gone on vacation.  Her sister had some surgery last Friday and she needed to spend some time with her.  She and her husband, Jim, will also be taking off for a few days to go someplace by themselves.  She needs the rest-- she's been busy!!

My headache problems persist-- not much fun, either, let me tell you.  I'm not sure what it is that's causing it but I did figure out that the reason that I've been so tired the last two nights was because I was taking a drowsy-formula of sinus pill!!  Well, yeah, that'll make you go to sleep early!!  Dah!!

Sorry there's not more to report but, other than starting the baby afghan to be given to one of my co-workers, not much is happening.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Where to start???

First off, thanks for stopping by-- I had a whopping 11,852 page reads last month!  I appreciate the patronage and the community, as ever.  Its been fun, eh?

Second, the quarter end is over and I'm glad of it!  It is a lot different being in the same time zone and "carrying on" the negotiation torch.  Usually, in California, I would get to "knock off" by 3:30 or 4 which, of course, translates to 6:30 or 7 in the East coast time zone!  That's exactly when I knocked off last night-- 6:30!!  I went home, Brian and I went out to dinner and I tried for a half hour to keep my eyes open, finally giving up entirely and going to bed at 9:45pm.  I woke this morning feeling just about as tired as I did last night and, as I sit at my desk typing this, I am once again suffering from "Can't-keep-my-eyes-open-itis"!!!

That was then . . .

. . . this is now.  I came home early from the office and had a nap.  Next, I wrote the rent check and corresponding letter to the landlord and started the laundry.  I have a fun life, don't I?

That leaves me to the end of this-- with nothing much to report.  Oh, well, tomorrow's another day!  Have a nice afternoon, evening and night!

Short and Shorter

I'm putting up a post-- can't say I haven't.  I worked from 8am to 6:30pm tonight.  Brian, the Wonderful Husband, took me out for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's-- nummer-licious salad bar!!  He got the appetizer sampler and a burger and was a happy camper while I filled up on the salad bar.

I'm quite tired actually-- busy can be a good thing and a bad thing.  At any rate, its all over.  I have to tell you a funny story: at one point this evening, my work was finished so I went to see if Lee (the new negotiator was busy or whatever).  She was and one that she "hadn't seen or heard of just showed up!" so I picked it up and walked away with it.  Later I heard her say to Judy: "I'm not sure what she did with it but she picked it up from my desk and took it."  Judy came into my office "Uh, what did you do with that document that was on Lee's desk?"  My response was "I'm reviewing it to see where there are changes-- there aren't any so sign here and here and here."  "Oh!" was Judy's response and she leaned over to sign the documents.

We are a team here in the east coast-- if one's busy, the others pick up the overflow which is how it should be in any job.  We're lucky that we all get along as well as we do and can work together as well as we do.  When she figured out what happened to the document, Lee thanked me, too-- she would've even if it hadn't been tonight that she figured it out.  Who knows?  Next quarter, I may need the back-up or Judy or maybe even Lee again.  But we'll be there for each other-- that's what you're supposed to do.

'Nuf for tonight!  I'm exhausted!!  You have a great evening and, as always, thanks for coming by!
