Update at 10pm

Some now . . .

. . . and who knows?  Maybe more later!!

Its a good possibility since I have a strange day lined up for me today.  We're going to be heading off to run some errands shortly and then I have to go to
Columbia this afternoon for a 4-hour shift followed by management's combination dinner out/staff meeting.  Should be a lot of fun even if I can't drink which I seldom do anyway so I doubt that I'll notice.

In addition to not being able to drink because I'm driving, I can't drink because of course, tomorrow is my surgery day.  We're going to try to sleep in late since I can't eat or drink anything after midnight.  I could take my thyroid medicine if I wanted to but why chance it if I don't have to chance it, right?  Yeah, that's what I thought-- I will not die if I don't take my Levoxyl until 5pm so I'll take my daily morning meds when I get home.

Anyway, because we're going to be sleeping in late, we may be staying up late which may bring me back here later tonight.  Ya just never know!!

There are many things to do today that I won't be able to do for a few days but I have supplies that are needed to set up my pills for the week.  That's where the errands of this morning come in to play.  So, we're out of here for the moment-- back later.

Have a wonderful day, afternoon, and evening!

Me again . . .

I'm tired-- no huge surprise.  My knee hurts more today than it has in a month!!  It has to get its' last bits of pains in, I guess.  Anyway, other than that, nothing is new and exciting . . . other than . . . I bought a serger today.  Man, they are really neat machines!!  Couldn't resist cuz I'm going to start sewing more of my clothes this spring and I can just see the need and use for it!!!  Its supposed to go fast and be better all the way around so I'm really going to look forward to it now.  The dinner was nice and it was informative-- lots of stuff discussed over the din of the other diners.  A little tough for my ear (which could be part of the reason that I'm so tired) but well worth the time.

Other than that, however, nothing new and exciting.  I'm going to do a bit of hand-sewing and then call it a night.

Brian will have an update on his site tomorrow when we get home from the hospital so you can check with him-- and thanks for the emails that I've already received.  Your concern and good wishes are appreciated!

Take care and have a good evening and night!

What is that?

Consciousness-- I know it exists because I've heard that some people experience it.  I know that Brian experienced it today but Sally and I had a good time NOT experiencing it.

Sally woke us up at about 7:30 or so (nudging my elbow as she stepped on the stool next to the bed), and so we went downstairs and had a bite for breakfast (english muffins) and coffee and then, I came up to check email which, because the server was down, was non-existent.  I played a few seconds of a game that I've picked up on computer and then, decided that I was going to go back to bed.  It was 9am.

When I awoke for the second time at 12:15, I decided that I would take a shower and get the day going.  Well, I did that and set up my embroidery unit-- yes, it works, as does all of the software, etc.  I ran a design for a "quilt naming" and then, decided it was naptime.  Sally and I headed downstairs and we napped from about 3:15 to 5:15!!

Man, I don't know what's wrong with me!!  I don't think I've ever slept that much and, the worst part?  Its 11:20pm and I am ready to go to sleep-- NOW.  Yeesh!!

Hopefully, I'll be a little more motivated tomorrow morning because there is some sewing that I'd like to get done before my surgery but, if I don't, then I don't and oh, well.  It'll last and I'll survive.

*****

Time to go to sleep-- Sally's there already.  I hope I get over this soon although I'm sure a lot of it has to do with my knee and working the two jobs.  I'll get used to it though-- soon enough.

Have a great evening and night!

More Like It

Although still late, I was not home as late tonight as last night.  Last night I was exhausted but then I usually am on Thursday nights.  While it is late tonight (its 10pm as I write this), I feel like I've got a bit more energy tonight.

Last night, I sold a sewing machine and tonight, I sold one and a serger!!  Yes, I'm doing quite well at this, needless to say.  The manager also told me tonight that I'll be running the Christmas Club which is the quilt club for the store.  I'm looking forward to that, needless to say-- it really makes a lot of sense for the "Other Mrs. Claus" to be running the Christmas Club, don'tcha think?

Well, it works for me and I'm looking forward to it already-- should be lots of fun!!

Time Set

The surgery time has been set for 1pm, or at least we think so since I'm supposed to be there at Noon on Monday.  The problem, of course, is that between not being able to eat and not being able to have coffee, I should have a raging headache by that time of the day!  The good news is that I get great drugs to treat the headache so I suppose there is an up-side to this, eh?

On the Agenda . . .

Sewing!!  I don't feel like I've done any sewing all week, and of course, I haven't!!  I've been too tired when I get home from work and so I haven't done anything.  This weekend I need to work on my apron along with the quilt and get the embroidery set up for the naming process on a couple of quilts.  It actually should be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to relaxing while doing it.

That said, I'm going to have some popcorn and try to wind down a bit before going to sleep.  Maybe I'll have a little cuddle with Sally who misses her Mommy tons these days-- take care and have a GREAT evening!

I think that says it all right there--

Have a great night!

A Good Day

Its so rare that one can say that these days, eh?  Well, today was a good day at work in that nothing huge happened to make things go bad nor did anything happen to make them good.  Things just were . . . things.  Having life on an even line is a good thing once in awhile.

I came home and started trying to tackle my embroidery programming so that I could finish some stuff up.  so far, I'm not being very successful but I haven't got a lot of consistent time to work with it, either.  Maybe next week when I'm on painkillers things will go easier with the programming.  Well, things will "go" but whether they'll be readable/sewable/embroiderable after I'm finished creating them is another story.

I'm going to sign off since there's nothing major to report.  Things are good and that's a good thing-- pearls of wisdom here, eh?  Yeah, right.  ;>)

Have a great evening, okay?  Okay!!

Not My Fault!!

Nope and it wasn't Brian's either but, at least I'm back in it now.  The cable company screwed something up yesterday and I wasn't able to get my email or publish anything or anything-- not fun, needless to say.  I do have my Supreme Court visit up on the Meanderings page so feel free to browse over there, if you wish.

Pre-Op'd and Ready

I had my pre-op "physical" yesterday.  Admittedly, an orthopedic surgeon doesn't do much for a physical but, as I told my regular doctor, I'd rather that he did it since he'll need to be the one familiar with my body when I go under the knife next week.  The doctor told me about all of what is going to happen and, thankfully, is allowing me to continue the Vioxx prior to surgery.

I had an instructional pre-op letter that told me that I couldn't take anti-inflammatory drugs the week before the surgery.  Needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to that pain!  Then, I asked him yesterday and it turns out that its a preventive measure that the anesthesiologist wants to have stopped in case I am going to be "under" an epidural instead of a general anesthesia.  Nope-- knock me out!!  So I get to take my Vioxx and stay "pain free", as much as is possible through the surgery.  He's also given me a prescription for what ails me after the surgery, too, so it'll be easier to tolerate the post-surgical pain.  Nice guy, I think, don't you?

Final Steps

The final bits of my sewing machine and software have come in-- I can now start downloading embroidery software from the net.  Should be tons of fun if I ever have time to stop and read the instructions!  No, really, it shouldn't be hard to learn and it will be cool to see what all is out there that is FREE for the taking!!

In the meantime, however, I have promised to clean up my desk and surrounding area so that Brian can find things in here-- it has gotten a bit weird again but, it is still searchable if you know where to look.  Unfortunately, he doesn't so I am going to make it easier for him.

Thanks for being patient over the past couple of days-- have a nice evening, too!
