Well, I Thought About It!

I coulda swore I put up a post yesterday!!  I hate when I do that-- think I did something and then didn't!!  ARGH!!  Senility is setting in!!

Oh, well, Saturday's activities consisted of a MAJOR run to Home Depot: we bought the shelves that were needed for my fabric room as well as a Christmas tree (YEAHHHHHH-- an ARTIFICIAL tree!!!) and some rugs for the hard wood floors of the first floor.  (The basement and second floor are carpeted so they didn't need anything, obviously.)

Then, when we got home, Brian put the shelves up while I napped-- couldn't help it, since it was a Saturday (its a rule that I sleep on Saturday and Sunday afternoons-- you know that!!).

After he got the shelves up, I started putting my fabric up on the shelves.  It is really nice to SEE my fabric again!  I forget what I've got because its hidden in storage boxes-- every quilter/seamstress should have shelving for their fabric!  Anyway, I only got about half of my fabric up before I got too tired (and hot!) so I quit.

Today, the grocery and warehouse store runs happen and then Brian (and I?) will start on the garage-- won't it be nice to USE the garage for our vehicles?!?!?

More to report later-- have a good day!

A Bit More

Today was a little more busy at work-- I don't know why but it still wasn't hugely overwhelming.  Oh, well, December is coming-- we all know what that's like, eh?

Since being home from work, I've done virtually nothing except make dinner and read.  That reminds me: Did I tell you I read all of the Janet Evanovich "Stephanie Plum" mysteries?  Yep, one through nine and I'm now working on the special seasonal hit, "Visions of Sugar Plums".  Good stuff, I'll tell ya-- this stuff gives me a  good chuckle!

Tomorrow is errands and shelving and whatever else we can manage to cram into a day.  That's exactly why I'm going to go take a jacuzzi in a few minutes-- ah, yes!  RELAXATION!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Getting There

Tonight when I got home from work, I went to work on my sewing room.  I got most of it unpacked although there are some things that I can't do until Brian hangs some things up for me.  Another problem is having the fabric/cutting room set up since there may be things that need to move between the two rooms.  Ah, but that'll be Saturday and that's soon enough to get things finished and tidied up.

After I finished up what I could in the sewing room, I moved to the 4th bathroom-- the one upstairs (there are 3-1/2 in this house just as with the last house).  I am using the motif of lighthouses in it in order to be able to shift some of the things from the last house's half-bath into use.  I hung the shower curtain and arranged rugs and towels.  We still need a towel bar in that one but that'll get taken care of this weekend, too.

Eventually, I'm told, I will get everything unpacked but in the meantime, it just seems like we're living out of boxes!

Blowing Hard!

The wind has been gusting HARD all day and still continues into tonight.  The power just got knocked off for a bit but didn't stay out long enough to re-set the clock on the VCR.  Its loud but otherwise it isn't too annoying and so far, Sally hasn't taken flight.

I'm going to sign off for tonight-- still many things to do like start my Christmas shopping!!

Thanks for stopping by-- Have a good evening!

Another Slow News Day

Sorry-- there just isn't anything to report . . . some days are just like that, aren't they?

Hopefully, your day was better.  Have a good night!

Update at 10:12pm

Long Story??

Okay so yesterday, I get up and ready for work with no problem but then, I get to work, step out of the Santa Fe and boom, I am hit with a bad case of vertigo!!  Wow!!  Completely out of no where!!

So I live with it and keep trying to maintain and then at 2pm, I just get WORSE!  So I mentioned it to my friend and co-worker and said I was going to drive myself home.  Lee wouldn't have anything to do with that so she drove me home (and yes, hopefully my car is still there!).  I went to bed upon arrival and slept for a couple of hours and then had no problem falling asleep last night.

I don't know what that was but it seems to be gone this morning.  From there, however, the plot thickens:

I woke up with a bad case of the "Klutzies" this morning!  Everything was fine until I picked up a glass and then, that shattered when it got dropped to the floor.  Great!  So I went to the garage to get a broom and dust pan and, BOOM!  The door slams shut behind me!!  Uh-oh!!  While the top lock was unlocked by a key, the bottom lock was still locked and now I was locked out.  So I went to the front of the house and rang the bell to no avail since Brian was in the shower.  Then, I had the brilliant idea to go to the back where I had let Sally out and probably left the door ajar.  Yes, I did but when you open a hard glass door away from a hard door, it sucks the second door SHUT!!!  Yes, alas, the bottom lock trick is still locked and again an issue.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday night, our neighbors across the street came over to introduce themselves and this morning, that came in handy.  Kary stuck her head out of their house and offered assistance.  After about a dozen phone calls to Brian, he finally got out of the shower and got the message:  OPEN THE FRONT DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeesh!!  And then I still had the glass to clean up!!!

I'm running behind schedule, needless to say: Brian's buying lunch out since I don't have time to make his lunch and Lee is coming to pick me up in 45 minutes.

Gotta dash-- more later!  Have a GREAT day!  (Or at least, one that's better than mine is bound to be!)

Not a Good Lock Day

Did you ever have one of those days?  Well, today apparently was that day for me.

As I told you, Lee drove me home from work yesterday and, since she also lives close by, she also picked me up for work today.  When she pulled up, I walked to the car, opened the back seat and set down my computer bag, my purse and my lunch.  Because I had my purse buried by my lunch, I couldn't put my house/car keys in it so I just dumped them on the floor in front of me in the front passenger seat.

We went to work and worked all day.  At about 4, I decided to pack it in and began looking for my keys and, yes, I realized where they were.  Yes, I was lucky: sometimes Lee leaves before me but because she had to prepare for a trip to New York tomorrow, she was there a little later than Judy.  Whew!!!  Wouldn't that have been a case?

Silver Lining

There was a good thing today: For the sales meeting in January that I have to attend, I don't have to attend as long as I would ordinarily be required to attend.

Let me explain:  As we all know, when I travel to California, for some unexplained reason, I always catch something.  The first trip it was the flu and the second trip, right before my surgery in July, it was a head cold.  Since I have yet another surgery planned for the week after this trip in January, I wasn't keen on staying for the full eight days that are required of my co-workers.  Thankfully, my manager and her director agreed: I do have a pronounced history of becoming ill and this is not a good thing prior to surgery.

Didn't I Mention It?

I don't think I did so I'm not sure why I sound surprised.  During my surgery in July, my doctor noticed that my gallbladder didn't look normal.  He ordered a sonogram and that indicated that I had a stone-- a rather large stone, actually.  After I healed from that surgery, he referred me to a general surgeon and I met with her last week.  I have this last (as far as I know) surgery scheduled for mid-late-January and hopefully, that'll be it for awhile.

I'll be glad when my warranty goes back into effect!!

Thanks for stopping by-- hopefully, I'm back to a routine here and, if nothing else, I'll start posting in the mornings.  Who knows?  Who can tell?

Take care of yourselves and have a great evening!
