Busy Day

That's a big ol' "Dah!", eh?  We always have busy weekends and adding to that the fact that we haven't done any grocery shopping for two weeks only multiplies that problem.

My friend, Lee, dropped Ebony over for a playdate with Sally around 10am; we gave her the nickle tour of the house and played with Ebony and Sally a bit.  After they left and the kids settled down for their first nap, we headed out.  First, we hit Sears to pick up a generator for when the electricity goes out for any length of time and a snow blower so we won't need it.  Yep, you heard me right: if you're prepared for something, you won't need it.  Best thing we could've gotten-- I try to think positively, don't I?

Then, Brian dropped me at the warehouse store to try to start the big grocery-buying stuff while he went to Home Depot to start his end of things.  He met up with me when I was just about done at the warehouse store and then we headed over to Safeway.  All the while, the snowblower is in the back of the truck along with a lot of food!!  (The generator is ordered and won't be in for a week or so-- we'd've had to make a second trip if that was in stock!)

Then we headed home and played with the kids a bit more until we settled down for a nap together-- just the three of us, of course.  Brian put together my sewing table so now we're ready to put the shelves up.  I think he said he would do that tomorrow, of course after we make a stop at Ikea to see if we can find a media cabinet that we like-- hopefully.

Alas, I'm tired after cooking some for meals for me for the week along with baking apples for snacks and desserts for me next week.  Love the baked apples!!

I'm going to go start unpacking my sewing room and see how far I can get-- maybe I can be sewing by next weekend?  Sure!!  It would be fun, wouldn't it?

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great weekend, too!

Bad Marcia

I know-- I've been really, REALLY bad by not writing here.  I couldn't help it-- way too many things to do at night after I got home from work.  When I wasn't doing that, I was too busy trying to stay awake-- not an easy task for me these days!  I think its the relief of the stress from the move and the fact that the move is hard to do and the fact that I am still in recovery from my surgery this past summer-- whatever the cause, I get tired really easily which leads to not enough time in the day.

Sorry-- I will only take off time from here when I've taken off time from my day job, okay?  Thanks . . .

Worth the Price of Admission!!

The other night, I took my first jacuzzi bath in our tub-- definitely WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!!!  That is unless you think of the "Price of Admission" as the amount that we paid for the house-- Yowza!!  That's an expensive bath!!

It was wonderful but it does use a lot of water so I won't be doing it terribly frequently if only because my conscience won't let me!!

Unpacking Continues

And apace it is!!  I've just about got my office unpacked and I hope to have the bedroom more organized this weekend.  Hopefully we'll also be able to get to the family room unpacked and I'll be able to get to some other work that I have on my desk done like my sister's website!!  I haven't been able to have time to post pictures that they sent to me-- hopefully, I'll get to that soon!

By the way . . .

The rest of the week's activities included napping, getting my flu shot and turning the keys over to the landlady.  I've got my closet organized and I think I've gone through some of my clothes.  I gave up about 10 pairs of shoes but still have more than 50-- no, don't go there!!

Anyway, it'll all start over again tomorrow morning after we get finished with the warehouse and grocery store runs.  Ebony is coming over to play with Sally so the two of them should have fun.

I'll keep you posted better now that I'm back to work and my next vacation isn't due for another couple of weeks!

Thanks for your patience and for stopping by!  Have a GREAT evening!

We're IN!!

It has been a long and arduous weekend.  I'm sore and I haven't done half of the work that Brian's done so I can't begin to wonder how he can still walk!!  If I were him, I'd be down for the count-- for sure!!

To back-track a bit, we had about 30 trick-or-treaters on Friday night at the "old house".  Our neighbors came by with their little girl who was a "bad witch"-- of course, it can be difficult to be a bad witch if you're adorable and talk everyone's arm off but she succeeded pretty well with everyone except us.

Saturday morning dawned early for us.  We were up at 6 and Brian was running stuff over to the house by 6:45.  I loaded the car with my sewing machines while he was gone and, when he returned, we took some downtime while waiting for the moving crew to come.

Everything got loaded-- I'm really glad we went with two trucks-- and then we were on our way.  The guys in the trucks stopped to get lunch while Brian and I went on and emptied our vehicles.  The guys unloaded and were outta here by 4, give or take.  It cost a lot but if we hadn't done it, Brian wouldn't be moving so I'm glad we did.  Besides-- it is the last time that we're going to move!!

Brian started plugging things in and playing audio/video geek (which he is very good at, as we all know) while I started unloading the kitchen boxes.  Unfinished due to tired-ness, I quit and watched television for a few hours before falling dead asleep.

Sunday didn't dawn as early, thankfully, but when it did, it started all over again.  Brian went to the old house to clean and I finished up the kitchen-- about 6 hours later.  Everything's unpacked in there and we have space to spare, too!!  I was a little concerned that we didn't have enough cupboard space but we do so I'm happy.

After the kitchen was finished, I started on my part of our bedroom.  I'm going to go through clothes as I unpack them and decide what can be donated-- if I haven't worn it in a long time and/or have no hope of wearing it, I'm going to give it away or try to sell it in a garage sale.  In fact, I've given up about two or three pairs of shoes, already!!  You know that's huge for me!!

Anyway, I'm going to sign off and get started.  My turn to go to the old house and clean the oven-- don't get excited: its a matter of turning some knobs and throwing some switches!!

Take care and thanks for your patience.  I'll be back later with an update to my day!!  Have  a great day!
