. . . we slept through our first hurricane. We went to bed at 10pm and, because of Sally, I woke up at 4:30 to let her outside. By that time, it was done. Oh, yeah, the power was out (for what seemed like forever) but we didn't really hear any wind or hear any tree branches cracking, etc.
Tree branches did crack in the area and a couple of trees uprooted themselves but we didn't see anything of the hurricane itself. Oh, well-- the nice thing about this natural disaster is that you do have warning for it which is better than you can say for earthquakes.
71 Hours Later
I've read three books, I've eaten three cans of albacore without the benefit of heat, I've run out of plain yogurt and I'm bored!!! I missed watching television which is something you'll rarely hear me say and, since we don't knowa bout the office, I'll be working from home tomorrow. At least the VPN's up here which I can't say for sure about the office!!
Much to do and way too little time-- gotta run!
Take care and thanks for stopping by-- emails are nice to get when people are worried about ya! Have a great evening!
Wednesday, September 17, 2003WE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it GORGEOUS???? Thanks, we thought so, too!! That's why we put the offer in on it this morning. The good news? It is going to be ours come mid-to-late October!!! Are we excited???? YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Well, I hate to say, but that's about all the news that I have from here. I know-- its terrible but I can't help it. I'm living on the phone tonight telling people about the house so bear with us.
Another saga about to start for us . . . life is so much fun with Brian, ya know?
Thanks for stopping by and take care of yourself!! Have a great evening!!
Tuesday, September 16, 2003Maybe . . .
We may have found a house tonight. We'll know more as things progress but, it certainly was an interesting evening.
Two More
Other than that, nothing new developed over the course of the day. I did get two more of the Janet Evanovich books that I wanted-- I am missing one in the consecutive order of the series that I'm going to try to track down.
Sorry this is so short but I'm kinda tired tonight. Take care and have a great evening!
Monday, September 15, 2003For the first time . . .
. . . since before my surgery: I bicycled!! Yeah!!! Okay, I didn't do a lot of bicycling but since I haven't done any in two months, I did some tonight. Tomorrow night, like Saturday, we're going to do our exercise by going up and down stairs. On Saturday, we did 8 houses with two sets of stairs (1 up and 1 down) so that's 16 flights of stairs, right? (My math is so horrible, you may want to check that!) Tomorrow we're going to get in as many houses as possible or at least, narrow the field by another couple of houses.
Black-Out Period
Remember me telling you about how I was subject to the black-out period at work and couldn't tell you about how work was going, etc. in case I divulged some secrets that would affect trading? Well, the Powers that Be decided that peons, such as myself, were not liable to know anything that would hurt the company so we're no longer subject to it. That means that I can buy and sell my stock and options at any time during the year.
Truth be told, that is not accurate since I do, in fact, know how the company is doing but, I can not and will not divulge the company's secrets here, whether or not the PTB say that I'm subject to it. I have my loyalties and no where my bread gets buttered so I'll still be keeping my mouth shut.
I will, however, be buying and selling shares to my heart's content. It used to be that the stock would peak during the black-out period which would tick me off to no end . . . obviously. Now, I don't have to worry about that anymore. (Happy House Hunting!) ;>)
While this doesn't seem like much, believe me, there's even less that's newsworthy!!
Thanks for stopping by, take care of yourselves and have a great evening!
