Wardrobe Adjustments

I'm working with the software that I bought for making clothing patterns.  I like it but it is fairly experimental yet.  I made a pair of pants yesterday but the leg turned out to be close to the ankle.  The rest of the pant leg falls the way I'd like it to but, a tight ankle won't work for loafers-- heels yes but not loafers.  Anyway, I made another pair of black pants today; a little more stylish for loafers.  I'm still checking stuff out and I've got things to figure out on how to make the software work with the printer.  I've got the designing part down-- no problem but I am having problems with the printer.  I'll figure it out-- again its a time thing.

Errands Run

I ran all of the errands this morning by myself because Brian had to work.  I have to admit it isn't as much fun wandering the warehouse store without him though-- I miss him.

While shopping, I browsed and saw lots of nice things for the new house.  The big problem is that I don't remember what we've got that we haven't unpacked so I don't know if we need anything new or not.  That's why I didn't buy it-- if I can't remember, we probably don't need it.

Anyway, there'll be plenty of time to buy the really needed items after we move.

Only Two More

And then the quarter will be over.  Its been interesting because I never took any time off like I did this summer for my surgery.  It makes it difficult to get caught up and back in the grind in time for the negotiation process to be complete for agreements.  Tomorrow should be interesting since I've got a couple of calls already lined up.

Nary a dull moment, eh?

Up at Dawn

Thanks to Brian's client, we were awake and he was out the door by about 6:30.  I stayed in bed and tried to go back to sleep but that wasn't happening.  I am tired today, needless to say, even after having had a nap.

I did one errand and then settled in for some pattern building.  Piecing a pattern together actually takes quite a long time.  I'm hoping it will go faster as time goes on but, if I were you, I'd buy stock in 3M for sure.  This does take a ton of tape and time on all counts but, in the end, it will be worthwhile for the uniqueness of the clothing.

I've made a pair of black pants-- I'm not crazy about the pant leg but I'll live with it.  I'm making another pattern with a wider hem so that should look better.  I've got the gray, blue and corduroy pants to go so it'll be a productive pattern once I get it right.  In the meantime, I've just got different styles of legs on the patterns themselves so that makes them unique to me!

One Step Done

I've got the stamped, signed and dated bank statement to fax to the mortgage company on Monday.  I've also got the insurance files pulls so I can make the calls to the insurance companies on Monday.

The bank manager couldn't understand why I had to have the bank statement, which had just arrived in the mail, handled in this manner.  I'm sure his ignorance was because he was trying to get the business for the bank.  Sorry, too late-- already half-way through the process with this bank.

Other than that . . .

. . . nothing much has been happening around here.  I've been sewing and sewing and, of course, sewing.  Sally's been sleeping, sleeping and sleeping some more.

Once again, we're back to dull and duller.  Its okay-- the world is pretty exciting enough without me contributing.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Busy Time

Between work and the mortgage company, there is no rest for the weary these days.  I called the mortgage company this morning and spoke with a pleasant person who informed me that we were now officially approved for the loan.  Then, I was transferred to an individual who asked me for our first born child-- uh-oh, we're in trouble-- and our home owners' insurance binder.  Yes, you're right-- we have several hoops to jump through in the next few days.

We (Brian and I) have agreed to split the responsibilities of setting up the new household between us.  Last time we did this new set-up thing, he was unemployed in California and calling Maryland but this time, he is very much employed and we both have limited time to do phone calls and such.  Because I was the one who started talking with the mortgage folks, gathering the information that they require is my responsibility.  I'll also take care of the home owners' insurance and a couple of other things that are tied to the mortgage.  I have the list from the mortgage company so its just a matter of time before I have everything together-- I need to get it to her sooner rather than later so hopefully, it'll all come together easily.

Yesterday?

Yesterday happened-- of course but you knew that-- I was just too busy and/or too tired to let you know what didn't happen around here.  I worked later than I have since I've been back to work and then was too tired to make dinner so I had a short "power" nap.  I made dinner after that and did some sewing before settling into a night of television.  Its the new season so I have to give the new television shows a try and the old ones also get my viewership because I enjoy them or I wouldn't be watching them.  CSI's my favorite and, it once again left me looking forward to another season-- good show and well done!

Print-Away

I'm printing my first pattern with my pattern making software.  I am in desperate need of pants for work with the fall clothes needing to be pulled out of the closet this weekend, I have to figure out what I need for clothing.  One thing that I know I need is pants so I'll be sewing them up this weekend.  This is the first time that I've used the pattern making software so it should be interesting.  I'll keep you posted on how it turns out, okay?

That said, I'm outta here-- thanks, as always, for stopping by.  I appreciate the patronage.  Take care of yourselves and have a great eening!

On The House Front

We heard from our realtor and friend, Shelley, today: the items that we wanted repaired before we moved in have been agreed to by the current owners.  Whew!!  Another "hurdle" in the process accomplished.  Okay, today the appraiser from the mortgage company went through the house and, I have to assume (I know-- a bad thing to do) that the house made the right dollar amount OR, we would've heard something by now.

Yes, that was another big sigh of relief you heard.

All of these things are good things and, amazingly, we are having no major problems come up on our way to buying this house.  Considering all of the horror stories we've heard, that's very good news!!

I'm almost afraid of what's going to happen when we check into home owners insurance . . . too scary to think of the possibilities!!

On The Health Front

I had a doctor appointment today to get a sonogram of my thyroid.  My cousin, Barb, had thyroid cancer and, since I had a palpable problem with my thyroid, the new endocrinologist thought it best to check it out.

Of course, I got to the appointment on time, was taken back for blood pressure and weight (more on that in a minute) ten minutes late, and put back out in the waiting room to wait until the sonogram room was clear.  At 10:10 (yes, 40 minutes after my appointment time!), the receptionist asked if I was supposed to make another appointment.  I simply responded with: "I don't know since I haven't been seen yet for today-- I was supposed to have a sonogram of my thyroid 40 minutes ago."  Well, she panicked and the other folks in the waiting room rolled their eyes thinking that they were all going to be running 40 minutes behind schedule.

The receptionist told me that they would come to get me in 10 minutes and, 15 minutes later, they did come to get me and put me in another room where I waited for an additional 10 minutes.  While I wasn't angry, I was getting impatient since I had a conference call that I knew was going to happen (or at least it was supposed to happen) and I was grateful that they'd taken my blood pressure before all of this time passed!  I called my office and gave them the timing update and was finally taken in for the sonogram at 10:30-- yes, an hour late.

When I finally did get taken in, I got the new partner AND the doctor that I saw last time that I was in the office in the room at the same time!!  Double-Doctors!!  How often does that happen?  They were both very apologetic-- it turns out that the one thought I'd been seen by the other and vice versa.  Whoops!!

Wow-- that was a digression!!

During the sonogram, they both made ooh-ing and aah-ing sounds but, it turns out that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid-- now.  There is the probable possibility that, at some point in the future, I will develop further problems but, at this time, I'm okay.

Whew!!

Now to move on to the gallbladder-- yep, if it tain't one thing, its another!!

Weight Loss

After three weeks, I've lost exactly 10 pounds!!  And not once have I cheated or gone off the plan!!  YEAH!!!

Only a gazillion left to go . . . but I'll get there!!

*****
Okay, I'm outta here-- I'm going to go watch "Brotherhood".  I've been looking forward to this series all summer so I hope I'm not disappointed!

Take care, thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT evening!

The Hurrier I Go

The behinder I get-- I swear!!  Thanks to the power outage last weekend, I am extremely far behind on responding to many, many emails.  I would try to catch up during the day but there's that pesky gotta-work-buy-a-new-house-thang that's just making me crazy, ya know?  Argh!!

I'm afraid you're going to get the short end of the stick by not getting a long post here again but, bear with me cuz things will start to get caught up eventually!

Stood Up

Yesterday I had a conversation with a sales rep from another region.  Judy, my manager, asked me to help cover something in the Northeast because she was busy and the lawyer that covers the region was busy.  I agreed after speaking with the rep and being told that he wanted someone from the "A Team" (which consisted of Judy or me) to handle the deal.

I reviewed the document that was sent to me by the rep, including the wants-n-needs of the customer with regard to licensing.  He asked me to be available to join the call at 2pm and that it would go until the contract was finished.  Yeah right-- I never heard from him today!!  That's the story of my life, eh?  Oh, well-- his loss.

So you got one story from the day but there's more and when I have time, I'll tell you some of them.  Thanks for bearing with me-- I appreciate it!

Take care and have a good evening!

Long Day . . .

The "Home Inspection" was tonight.  That took 4 hours and that, along with a full-day of my job, evening working from home, and doing laundry has made me VERY tired.

Tomorrow looks like it'll be another busy day at the office and, of course, something will come up tomorrow to make my day long again-- I'm almost sure its a plot.

Anyway, I apologize for being so short but I have to get to sleep.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!
