Archive of Marcia's Musings April 12-18, 2004So-So
It was . . . a day at work today. Nothing major happened which, when you consider that I'm handling three regions, is a good thing. John and I talked this morning; we've got a call set up with the UK to talk on Monday morning. I may have to volunteer to talk to the customer in person-- such a sacrifice!!
Its done!
Didja notice? My "trip report" for the "Visiting the Nation's Hometown" is finished!!! Yep, it sure is-- nice and long and only a fraction (probably less than a tenth) of the pictures used. As always, let me know if you find a broken link but, in the meantime, ENJOY!!!
That's it for me tonight-- I've got some stuff to do, now that I've planted the Ranaculus!!
Have a good evening!
Thursday, April 15, 2004I'm Here!!!
I was just really tired last night-- its hard getting back into the swing with 4,000 people demanding your time (and your brain!). The good news? Its going to get worse! Lee has left on a two-week vacation and I'm now handling THREE regions! Yes, I will attempt to post here at night and, Yes, I'm still working on the trip report but it is now almost finished-- I'm only pasting the photos in now.
Glutton for Punishment
Not only was it tax day today but, I had a dental appointment-- how's that for stupid?!?!? Yes, I enjoy pain-- of all kinds . . . NOT!!!
Anyway, always remember: Patience is a virtue!
(Updated at 8:58pm): The "Visiting the Nation's Hometown" is up here. Enjoy!!
Have a good evening!
Tuesday, April 13, 2004Relaxing Day
For reasons that I cannot explain, today was a less than stressful day. This afternoon, I had appointments for doctors and then, since I've been home, I've been running embroidery designs and working on a new quilt and pillow set. By the way, I did get all of my designs organized by the end of today: I have 1, 924 designs that I've gotten from the web-- all of them free (with a couple of exceptions). As for the design sets that I've bought, I've got another 20 of those and, with a content of at least 15 designs each, I'm pretty well set for anything anyone may need embroidered.
Currently, I'm making a bunch of Christmas-themed towels to send to my sister in Brazil. She'll put them in a bazaar that they're having at the church; I'm also making ornaments for her (I may have mentioned that in a previous post) to sell at the same bazaar. Wish I could bring them myself but there doesn't appear to be a trip to Brazil in my future.
While this may seem short, you have to remember that I'm working on the trip report-- be patient, its coming!
Have a good evening!
Monday, April 12, 2004Best Intentions
Well, I had the best intentions in the world to work on my trip report but then, I got distracted. (Not hard to do, let me tell ya.) Instead of looking at pictures, I decided to un-zip about 300 files of designs and, having done that, I'm now trying to organize said designs. From the web alone, I have over a thousand designs so anything I can do to organize them is a step in the right direction. (Once completed, I will count the designs and give you a complete tally, okay?)
Anyway, the point is that I will get to it-- soon! Promise!
Return to Work
Everyone was really happy to see me back at work-- or at least, if they didn't, they faked it well. I had more contact than before with the federal guys which is a good thing; they are supposed to be my primary focus. Of course, that doesn't leave John's guys out in the dark, trust me-- I work for them, too. Lee put it really well in one of the emails she sent out while I was gone: "This is the southeast region's org chart-- its another region that Marcia handles." Its nice to have management in your corner, ya know?
It was good to be back at work but it was also weird-- I wish I had another week to do nothing at all but that'll come later. I'm going to take a long weekend or two in May to sew which, of course, will be tons of fun.
Other than that, everything is normal around here-- what else can there be?
Thanks for stopping by and have a good night!
