Whoops!!

I've been a little busy-- I've got close to 3 dozen towels [almost] finished for my sister.  That's what I've been doing all weekend.  I haven't answered email or I haven't done any posting and the only other thing I've done besides sewing is a half hour of cleaning on Saturday.  I dusted the main rooms of the house and vacuumed.

Oh, I almost forgot-- I also reorganized my fabric and sewing rooms so that I've got two cupboards and part of the closet in my sewing room set up with embroidery blanks and then, my other big cupboard is set up with sewing notions: buttons, zippers, needles, etc.

I've got the edges of the last towels to finish and then, of course, there's the laundry that'll need to be started once we get back from running the morning's errands.  That'll be difficult to start, however, since Brian is still in bed asleep.  Hmmm, it'll be a little difficult to get moving from that position.

I'm going to have pictures of each of the towels to share with you-- there's a method to my madness, as you'll soon see.

Maybe more later-- have a good day, okay?

Long Week

I'm here-- its just been a long week.  I'm very ready for a weekend even if all I end up doing is sewing.  The plan is to finish the towels by the weekend so that I can work on the ornaments next month.  There's a "courier" going to Brazil in June-- actually, there are several people going to Brazil in June-- so I can get the stuff to my sister without it costing an arm AND a leg-- perhaps, only my shoulder (or a bum knee, if I'm lucky!).

I have to keep track of my hours on this project because that, too, is tax deductible.  It doesn't take as long as you'd think to run these designs out-- what takes the time is clipping the jump stitches after they're run!

Other than that . . .

There hasn't been much going on around here.  We watched a movie last night-- first time in a long time for that-- and it was good and entertaining to watch from a special effects standpoint.

Tomorrow I'm working from home-- I don't expect it to be terribly difficult to do so since I've brought my computer home.  Much easier than working off of the webmail connection.

Anyway, I guess that's it for tonight-- have a good one!

Slow News Day

Not much happening at work-- Lee called from her vacation: she just couldn't stand it!  We had a nice little chat but I tried not to keep her too long so she wouldn't think about work (sorta defeats the purpose of "vacation", ya know?).  Tomorrow will be busier as we head into the end-o-month rush . . . always a good time.

Hard To Do

Well, it wasn't on my list of things that are fun, that's for sure.  Tonight, I took my time after leaving work: I had an errand to run and, there were some stops that I decided to make along the way.  First, I went to Bed Bath & Beyond because I wanted to find some towels to replace the stock that I've used up these past few weeks from the towels that I'm making for my sister.  After that, I didn't get red ones so I went to Target to see if they had any.  No but I did find another couple of colors and, while I was there, I picked up a knit top or three-- I can't make them as cheap as these tops were!

THEN, I made the stop that I'd been dreading: the vet's office to get medicine for Lucy.  This was the first time since we took Sally there that I'd been back.  I couldn't look at or in the room where we'd been with her.  "Uncle Chris", one of the techs that works there who loved Sally almost as much as us, came up to me and started talking with me-- he asked how I was and how we were doing.  I had a hard time responding to him-- there was a lump the size of the state of Texas in my throat.

I'm still in denial-- Sally's out wandering the back-40 and will be back any minute now.  Man, I still miss her so much.

I'm Tired!!

I know-- its only Monday!!  Oh, well-- it may be just that I'm spending time relaxing.  When I got home from work, I immediately worked on some towels and then, made dinner for myself.  I've still got Karen to call tonight but other than that, I will probably go to bed early-- Mondays always do me in!!

Re-Read

By the way, did I mention that I'm re-reading my Janet Evanovich "Stephanie Plum" books?  Well, Ms. Evanovich has a new book coming out ("Ten Big Ones") in June so I thought I'd read the books again between now and then.  That way I'm current on Ms. Plum when I go into the next book.  I'm having just as much fun laughing at it now as I did the first time I read them-- I'm up to "High Five" already.

I'm going to go knock off for the rest of the night-- thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!
