Gene Scare

Well, yes, I have scary genes, as a matter of fact.  My genes have the "C" word all through-- on my mother's side of the family and my father's side of the family.  These are a scary set of genes to have to deal with from time to time.

Why am I talking about that you ask?  Because for the first time in over two weeks, Brian and I will sleep REALLY well tonight.

You see, I had my annual mammogram run on November 29 (I told you about that) and on December 6, I got a phone call that I needed to have something checked out a little closer-- a couple of x-rays and an ultrasound was ordered because of two nodules that were found.  That was scheduled for December 10 and, on Friday, December 17, I had a biopsy of the nodules done.  Today, the doctor called with very good news: everything was negative-- nothing to be concerned about.

WHEW!!!  He pretty much had told me the same thing at the time of the biopsy but it was nice to have everything confirmed through the pathology.

I love my mom and dad but there are times when I really wish we weren't related, ya know what I mean?  ;>)

Tickled Pink

I finished the book, "Tickled Pink" last night.  I doubt that it is about Rita's life but it is definitely an engaging book-- I found myself wanting to finish it last night even though I didn't have to finish it.  Another good read and recommended to all.

I guess that's all for tonight-- have a good one!

Guess What I Chose??

Did you know that comedienne, Rita Rudner wrote a book?  Yep, "A Comic Novel" as it is described on the cover.  The book is titled "Tickled Pink" and, even though I started reading it last night, I'm more than half finished and loving it.

The story itself sounds like Rita's life but I can't be sure because I don't know enough about her background.  It is surprisingly well-written, however, and excellent in plot development and delivery.

I'm surprised and pleased, needless to say.  This is one of the books that I picked up when Brian and I went to the 80% off bookstore in Bowie.  I'm glad I picked it up-- definitely worth a read!!

Other Activities

This morning, for a couple of hours, I cleaned my office; I didn't get to my fabric room but there's always tomorrow.  I dusted and filed and threw stuff out-- I'm quite pleased with myself actually.

Other than napping with The Girls, I've been reading-- taking it easy while my wonderful husband works his butt off cleaning the house.  I know-- I want to get a cleaning service but he won't do it!!  I'm terrible at cleaning which is why I think he does it when I'm napping-- so I won't "help".

Its earlier than I thought but that just means I have more time to read.  Anyway, have a good evening!

Metro Girl

I just finished it and it is fabulous!!  There were pages and pages of well-written comedy!! Janet Evanovich has out-done herself and I loved all of her previous books that I've read-- definitely recommend this as a good read!!

I needed a good laugh and boy, I got it!!  Now, YOU go get it!!!

Other than that . . .

Nothing that much happening around here.  It was, as expected, a slow news day with work being the only thing of any import.  My friend and former manager, Judy, called last night to see if we were busy for Christmas-- possibly going to end up at her house which would be a lot of fun.

Anyway, gonna go find something new to read-- lots of choices in my cabinet, too!

Have a good evening!

An Updating Post

First off, I found out that I don't have a 4-day weekend next weekend but a 3-day-- BUMMER!!  I was looking forward to being able to catch some of the "After Christmas Sales" that I never get to take advantage of because I have to work.  Oh, well-- its not like I need anything anyway.

On Tuesday night, I finally got a chance to clean my sewing room; it is so much nicer when its neat and things are put away!  I intended to do the same to my fabric room but haven't gotten there yet-- I've been distracted by doing the laundry and reading my book.

I've been trying different authors out, not reading two books by the same author from my collection.  Having finished "R is for Ricochet", I started out on "Metro Girl" which is the new series by Janet Evanovich.  True to form, the book is hilarious and interesting to "watch as she builds and develops a new character.

I'm working from home tomorrow so I should be a little less informative tomorrow night-- nothing happens on Fridays around here!  That's okay, there's always the weekend to make up for it.

Take care and thanks for stopping by.  Have a great evening!

Slow News Week

And a slow week . . . it is ONLY Wednesday!!  Yeesh, this could be a little slower, couldn't it?  I'd love to get to next weekend (the 24th) because its a 4-day weekend which is one reason why this week is dragging on me.

Oh, well-- only 9 days to go . . . Oh, Joy, Oh, Joy.

Have a good night!

Getting to Cleaning

I didn't get to cleaning my sewing room on the weekend so I'm going to start tonight.  Should be tons-o-fun!!

By the way, I posted last night but forgot to change the link at the top so if you missed it, go see last night's post-- I'm sure you'll agree that you don't want to miss it!

That's all for tonight-- have a good one!

Whoops!!

Well, it was almost a perfect record!!  I was VERY tired last night following all of the gift-wrapping and envelope-writing and card-stuffing that I had done over the past two days.  Brian, again, helped IMMENSELY yesterday-- without him, the Christmas cards wouldn't have gone out!!

I've got to cut some last threads on my sister's quilt and then, I think-- I almost hesitate to say these words-- I'm finished with it!!  That being the case, I need to wash and dry it-- hopefully, I'll get the right finish on it and then, I'll send it off!

Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening!
