Foggy-Brained

After running our regular errands, my stomach decided to get . . . funky-- its the only way I can describe it.  I don't know why but it just did so I layed down for awhile and now I'm just foggy.  After yesterday, I had intended to do nothing much today but I had planned to enjoy it, not find myself very foggy-brained as a result.

More tomorrow, if I can get my new archive system set up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening!

Finished?

I feel like I'm forgetting something . . . well, yes, I did forget one of my projects: the stapling of the felt to the wood.  Rats!!  And there I thought I had everything done!

The Christmas tree and decorations are boxed up and waiting to go back into the garage attic.  The craft area is completely unpacked and completely organized for the first time-- ever, really!!  I'm exhausted but, oh, well-- there's always the laundry to do.

I've been trying to work through all of my self-assigned chores and Brian decided that we needed to do the laundry.  Okay, so neither of us had any clothes anymore but who needs to run the laundry when you've got all of this to do?!?!?

An epiphany occurred to me today: I'm never moving again so I do not need to save boxes!!!  After I finished unpacking my crafts, I asked Brian where I should put the boxes.  He reminded me that we don't need them so I should break them down-- oh, yeah!  I keep forgetting that!!  Needless to say, I happily went downstairs and tore up the boxes!

Tomorrow brings more chores and maybe some sewing?  One can only hope.

Have a great evening!

A Plethora of Projects

Due to Brian's project schedule, I have a plethora of projects to work on this weekend.  I finished the wall-hanging that I've been working on for myself but did another security adjustment to it today.  After that, I started working on the quilted wall-hanging that I'm making for my sister.  I asked Brian to stop at one of the home improvement stores to get the wood needed for the felt sticky board for quilt blocks soooo, once he got that home, it turned into my project to get the felt attached to the boards.  Then, once I get that attached, he'll be able to screw the boards to the walls and I'll be done.

Since he'd taken the girls in to Petco to spend the day at the "Doggie Day Spa", we had to go back and get them.  On our way, we went through yet another furniture store, unthrilled by anything and headed over to Best Buy.  There was a deal going on with a laptop and since the old Acer gives me fits some time, we decided that we would go ahead and replace it.  After that, we picked up the girls from their "spa" and went home.  I was tired-- probably because of this cold-- so I layed down while Brian put up the shelves for my craft area, creating yet another project for me: unboxing my craft supplies for the first time in two years.

There's always something, ya know.

Tomorrow will more than likely be more of the projects-- thank goodness we've got two more days!!

Major Losses

While Brian was taking the girls to the spa, I went to the Center and weighed in.  Without giving you numbers (because it really does get to be embarrassing after awhile), trust me when I tell you that I'm doing really well on my new food plan.  Yesss!!  I like success!!  The only problem that I have is that I'm not allowed to be on the program during the month following my surgery so they're going to put my plan on hold for a month.  Nice because I don't lose the time that I've paid for but bad from the standpoint that I don't want to be off program for a month!!  I'm going to talk to my doctor on Monday and see what he says as far as what I need to eat during the month that I'm recuperating-- I'm supposed to have a low-fat, bland diet but I have not idea what that means.

Before I went back home, I stopped at the library and brought back the books I'd previously taken out.  Then, I found a book that I needed in order to be able to read the two that Barbara Thompson had lent to me while we were there ("Murder with Peacocks").  I also got the next three paperbacks in the Sue Grafton alphabet series.  Should be interesting reading, indeed.

I guess that's all for tonight-- lots to do again tomorrow and I need to get more sleep.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you're having a sane and safe weekend.  Take care and have a good evening!

And a Happy New Year it is, Too!!

Oh, yeah-- thrilling!  We did our usual . . . go nowhere last night.  Between the amatuers on the roads and my cold, it wouldn't've been any fun anyway.

We did stay up late enough but that was more by default than anything else.  I can't sleep because of this cold-- that keeps Brian from sleeping properly so he's bound to get this thing, too.

Oh, joy.

One Down

I've finished one project-- a wall-hanging for my office at work.  Actually, I started this one before my surgery last summer and it has grown in leaps and bounds.  It now, in addition to embroidery and quilting, contains a flower arrangement.  Alas, however, since I have no way of hanging it up here, you will have to wait until I get it to my office to get a picture of it-- sorry!

Onward and upward.  I've got two other wall-hangings that I'm working on and I'm thinking about starting a Christmas tree skirt for our Christmas tree so that I can have it finished by next year-- sounds like a hopeful plan, eh?

Yeah, well, when you get this flu/cold thing, you'll be hopeful, too.

Take care and have a good evening!

Happy New Year!!

Oh, joy . . . I have a cold.  I am soooo happy about this-- you have no idea.  Now, as long as I can keep it in my head, as opposed to going into my chest, everything will be fine for my surgery on the 15th.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I worked from home today and I did, too-- I worked up until about 3:30 and then, we all realized that the last deal wasn't going to get done because the attorney on the other side doesn't understand the business process, that being, "Get the job done, make the customer be happy".  All he knew was how to make things difficult-- and he's working for the reseller!  They must not be selling a lot!!

Anyway, all's well that ends . . . eventually.

I'm going to nurse my cold and do some sewing this weekend.

Take care of yourselves, be safe and have a Happy New Year!!

Guess what?

I came down with a mild case of flu today!!  I went to the office long enough to get my computer and make sure that a few of the necessities were finished but, then I came home and had several naps intermixed with work.  I believe it'll be more of the same tomorrow-- I'm not up to going into the office if I feel the same way tomorrow.

Thank goodness I got the flu shot or I'd be in a lot worse shape!!

Have a good evening!

I've Been Neglectful

What can I say?  I was tired and there was a lot going on and . . . well, I needed the time off.

Last Week For Me

We had a nice Christmas day celebration with Jim and Lee and their kids and Shelley and her kids.  Lots of fun and good fun shared by all.  The day after Christmas, I went shopping for some decorations and got a few more things for the house.  I'm happy for now with what I have and I didn't get all that much more.  I'm not into a lot of decorations for the interior of the house-- I suppose it comes from years of not having enough space.

On Saturday, after we ran the Sunday-usual-errands, I took a short nap after I helped clean up the guest suite in the basement.  I actually did the kitchen counters, floor and bathroom (including the tub, toilet and floor).  It has been at least 7 years since I've cleaned a toilet and I'd be pretty happy if it were another 70 before I do another one.  We have got to get a hold of a housekeeper!!

Brian's brother and his girlfriend came for a visit and we had a nice time laughing and talking with them on Saturday evening.  Sunday morning, his girlfriend left to go see another friend in the area and we took Pete to DC and to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport.  That was really fun and interesting.  At one point, I got "lost" and grumbled to myself that I was with two of the tallest men in the building and couldn't find either one of them!!  Soon that was ended by finding Brian-- its really hard to be average, ya know?

Anyway, that was my weekend in a nutshell.  I have this weekend off from work as a 4-day holiday weekend which I'm looking forward to-- I've got a ton of sewing to do!!

For now, I'll sign off and beg your patience while I get through this week of fiscal year end.

Thanks for stopping by and your tolerance.  Have a good evening!
