Okay, I Lied!!

I'm reading again-- I know I said I wouldn't but I am almost finished with Christmas stuff soooo, I needed something to read at night.  Last night, I started reading Sue Grafton's "R is for Ricochet".  Obviously, I'm not very far into it but it is good and similar to her other books.

Let's see how long it takes me to figure "Who Dunnit", eh?

That's all for tonight-- have a good one!

Sad Remembrance

Three years ago today, we picked up Sally Ann.  I still miss her even with all of the love that Lucy and Molly give.  She was such a sweet little dogter.

Progress

I made some progress on the last of the Christmas gifts that I'm making.  Of course, I also found three towels that had been stitched in the wrong direction.  Well, they are done in the wrong direction to give as gifts-- they're perfect for us to use, however so we will and I'll serge the edges as soon as I get everything else done.

Later this weekend I'll be finished with all of my sewing and then, I'm GOING TO CLEAN MY SEWING ROOM!!!!  It is in a shambles because of all of the sewing I've been doing for the last two months!!  I can't find my small pin cushion-- I know its in there somewhere but I'll be danged if I can find it!

Christmas Cards?

Yes, I am going to be sending out Christmas cards-- this weekend!!  I've got some letters to write with them so it is in the plan to work on the letters at the same time.  It is amazing that, in the day and age of the "Internet", I still have to write letters but there are a few people that aren't connected to the outside world via any other means than the postal service.  They are few and far between, thankfully, but nonetheless, they do exist.

Guess that's all for now-- have a good night!

BAD Mummy & Daddy!!

It was Lucy's "birthday" yesterday!!  She has now been with us for one year and a day!!  I know-- I'm a terrible mom cuz we didn't do anything for her (except get her shots and heartworm meds).  I gave her extra hugs tonight though to make up for it.  Brian said she should be grateful that we rescued her!  True enough but she's such a sweetie!

Molly, Too!!

Yes, I know-- I need to work on Molly's page, too!!  I've been remiss, haven't I?  Well, there are so many pictures to go through to get it done that I get overwhelmed.  That and I'm busy with Christmas present making yet.  I've got to get that done and the Christmas cards sent out and the gifts packed up and sent out and the rest of the gifts (for work) wrapped and, of course, there's Brian's Christmas presents, too.  YEEESH!!

No wonder I can't ever get to work on her page!

Deborah Donnelly

By the way, I dropped Deborah Donnelly, author of "Veiled Threats" (among others) an email today and got a wonderful response from her!  She sounds like a very sweet person who is busy writing the fourth book in the series-- I will definitely buy it and can't wait to get started on the other two in the meantime!  I love reading a good, well-written mystery and she's definitely good at writing!!

Have a good night!

Cut Off!!

I am not allowed to read anymore until AFTER all of the Christmas presents are finished and mailed!  I spent the last few hours finishing "Veiled Threats".  I really enjoyed the book-- the descriptions are good and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The problem is that I'm not finishing my sewing when I'm reading!  I've got Pat & Nathan's gift to finish up and, of course, my sister's wall-hanging.  Tomorrow night, there will be no reading for me . . . not until I finish sewing and wrapping all of the gifts for sending out!

By the Way . . .

I neglected to mention this the other night: Brian did MOST of the decorating of the tree and house on Saturday night.  I ended up helping him with the tree but he had all of the other decorations spread around the living room and library by the time I helped him.  Nope, can't call him "The Grinch" this year!

As a matter of fact, I'm going to finish up some details that won't take long, if I do them NOW.

Have a good evening!

How about that?!?!?!

Five years ago today, I signed the offer letter at my current employer-- I'd been working there for the three weeks prior to that when they wanted me to come on board, permanently.  Pretty cool, I thought.  Most of the time, I still think so.

John, my AVP was nice and had a gift card from JoAnn's sent to me to mark the date.  I thought that was very nice.  I just have to decide what I really need-- not much so I might hold off for awhile.

Other than that, there isn't much going on.  I'm now reading the book that Barbara read when we were in North Carolina over Thanksgiving which is called "Veiled Threats" by Deborah Donnelly.  She writes well and I'm finding myself definitely hooked.

Have a good evening!
