Skeptic

I finished reading "The DaVinci Code" last night; I'm not sure that I believe what it says in the book but, it is an interesting book and I would recommend it to others to read.  The Opus Dei that is referenced in it is a real organization but, they have a lot of stuff on their website refuting what the book says.  Interesting reading all around.

Other than that . . .

Our usual Sunday running around happened along with a  nap for me and the girls and a bit of sewing until I broke the last 4.0 double-needle that I had.  I'll have to get that replaced tomorrow but I also need to pick up the last of the books for my Christmas present as well.  I'll kill two birds with that stone after my annual mammogram and baseline bone density tests are finished.  I have such fun on my days off, don't I?

Other than that, I'm going to be doing a little research for an upcoming trip tonight and then, off to bed as usual.  I've been trying to decide what to read next but, even though I have a lot of choices, I seem not to be pulled to anything in particular.  Since I have a few Christmas presents to finish up, that may be a good thing, too.

Have a good evening!

Jiggety-Jig!!

We're back home after spending 4 days at the Thompsons' house-- we had a wonderful time, of course.  Bob and Barbara and The Boys are wonderful hosts and on this trip, we even got to meet Frances, her sister-- Frances is always off on a trip with her husband or busy with something so that we've never been able to meet her before this time!  It was good to put a face with the name and "voice" of her emails-- a real sweetie, for sure.  We didn't get to see Barbara's parents as they were busy getting ready for their Thanksgiving trip with Al and Frances.  Still, we left a hug for them with Barbara and we'll catch them the next time we go down, hopefully.

Other than that, The Girls are happy to be home and a whole lot less anxious about what's going on around them since they are home.  Molly did wonderfully on the trip-- ten minutes after our arrival, she was sitting on the sofa snuggling with Barbara!  Lucy was "Velcro Dog" for the trip when I was at the house-- she never left my side for fear I may not return.  Hah!!  She'll never get that lucky!

I've still got some stuff to put away so I'll be off-- thanks for stopping by and have a good evening!

Whoops!!

If you missed my post of yesterday, go down and look at it and I'll wait for you . . .

That's Better

While most people hit the sales today, I tend to try to stay away from them.  I went to a crafts show with a friend and then, hit a couple of new quilt shops.  Lots of fun was had by all, of course.  A good day and not too late getting back, either.

Other than that, I think I'll try to talk Brian into going for a drive tomorrow-- nothing too far from home cuz the girls can't stand being away for too long (they get really antsy!).  Then, for the rest of the weekend, it'll be our usual errand-running and rat-killing.

Sounds like fun, doesn't it?  I thought so, too.

Have a good Friday evening!

Thanksgiving Day, 2004
(Back to Friday)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We all have a lot to be thankful for these days, don't we?  No recent attacks on our shores (Ohio is going to be nervous for awhile with good reason) but we have too many of our own on other shores where they shouldn't be.  I won't go into politics today but, let's all stop and say a prayer (or whatever) to protect our soldiers and keep them safe where they are not wanted.

Closer to home, I've got the health and safety of my family, more particularly my sister, Sue on the healthside, to be VERY grateful for on this day.  The best thing though is that I have two wonderful, beautiful dogters and the most wonderful husband in the world to love me.

Showing Off

Last night I showed off my new Christmas present to a fellow quilter.  I also designed a block!!  I don'treally know what I'm doing yet but I sure am having fun!!  Today, I'm going to spend a little more time going through the start-up lessons and see if I can figure out what I'm doing.  The good news is that I've got a class scheduled for late January.

I'm reading "The DaVinci Code" recently-- its well written in appropriate detail.  I've also picked up some more of the Joanne Fluke series-- I've actually got an adequate supply of winter reading books.  That's about the only time I read considering that I sew so much.

Well, I'm off to help with dinner preparations and software play.  HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Not Right . . .

Yes, I know-- I haven't closed off last week properly but, do you want a post or do you want to get picky?  Think of it this way: I'mon vacation and I'm posting-- let's not hope for toomany things at once, okay?

I'm not crazy about shopping the day after Thanksgiving-- I'm just not into crowds, what can I say?  I am, however, into getting deals and many places are already marking things down to the price that they're going to offer in two days' time.  Me, being the smart individual that I am, have chosen to take today to take advantage of some of the things that I want to get but don't want to get on Friday.

There are advantages to being  ON VACATION!!!

Brian and I are having a good time-- its nice to just spend time with him for a change.  That said, I'm going to sign off-- I probably won't be back on tomorrow soooooo, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
