Archive of Marcia's Musings October 4-10, 2004Fun Day!
A fun day of craft fair and shopping (not buying much, tho) was had by all. We all (Brian included) came from the craft fair around 2 and Natali and I decided we were going to go see a movie but decided instead to do some shopping. I picked up some unmentionables which had risen drastically in price but, that was about it.
We stopped at the used book store that I went to last spring with Barbara Thompson and bought a few new-to-us books, too. After a wonderful dinner cooked up by Brian, Natali and I went upstairs for me to show her some of my Brasilian finds. She oohed and aahed appropriately and then we came downstairs to call her mom. My sister, Sue-- in Brasil was celebrating a birthday today. After the year she's had, we are ALLLLLLL celebrating her birthday this year!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE!!!
Anyway, Natali and I played a game of Scrabble and, after she beat me the first time, Brian joined us and whooped us good! Tons-o-fun had by all! Its good to have her here visiting with us!

Friday, October 8, 2004Done!!
I'm finished with alllllll of the preparations for our upcoming houseguests!! WHEW!!! I have vacuumed (certainly not as well as Brian would've done it but he didn't have time) and I have moved all of my summer wardrobe over to the spare closets and rotated in my fall/winter wardrobe.
NOW, with that done, I have 1-1/2 hours to myself before I have to get ready to go to the airport to pick up my niece!! What fun we will have!! We haven't seen her without distractons (we saw her last year at her brother's wedding of course) in three years. It has been far toooo long since we've had her all to ourselves. Next, of course, will be trying to find a time when my other niece can come from Michigan-- I'd like to spend the same kind of quality time with her. I miss these kids, ya know?
Work?
Did anyone hear "Maynard" in that one? I am "working" today-- not officially on vacation but I may as well be-- there's not a heck of a lot going on at work since it is the beginning of the quarter. As a result, working from home today is basically a comp day-- we don't officially do them but with the hours that we put in as we near the end of the quarter, its almost a must!
I will try to report on our time with Natali as the weekend passes-- we don't have a lot scheduled but it will all be time spent with her happily.

Yes, I worked and yes, I came home. Nothing much exciting going on around here. I have prepared as much as I can for our visitors so it is now up to them to come, visit and have a good time.
