(I've just noticed that I published the last two days' posts to the wrong directory!! Be sure you read through as far as Saturday to be completely caught up! Yeesh!!)
How About This??
Two days in a row!!! Wow-- you'd think something exciting was happening over here or something . . . well, in a way.
PUTZ Here
Yes, indeedy. The mosquito bites are nearing their conclusion so I thought, "Oh, goody-- I get to shave my legs". Now while that may not seem to be exciting to you, it is to me since my wardrobe is rather limited if I can't shave my legs, i.e., I wear nothing but pants (as opposed to skirts, pants, crop pants, etc.)
Well, since I tripped over a step yesterday, I won't be shaving my legs for at least another week. I skinned my shin and my knee and jammed my left thumb. Yeesh, talk about your walking wounded over here! This house is lousy with 'em!!!
Things Accomplished
I did, however and despite the injuries, manage to get some sewing (and re-sewing) time in yesterday. I also picked up a bead/button organizer for the buttons and beads that I bought in Brasil. I actually had to buy three of these organizers giving me space for 90 different buttons and all of the beads. I have no more space but all of my novelty buttons are in there and that's what counts.
By the way, after a little nudge from Pat, I got an email off to her which, I thought, was really important.
Hopefully, we'll be able to get out to the grocery store and BJs this morning-- Brian's back in bed now after having been up in the middle of the night again. I'm going to let him sleep as long as he sleeps and then worry about things to be done today.
Sounds like a plan to me-- have a good plan yourself!
Saturday, September 18, 2004Yep, I'm Here
I don't remember Thursday at all-- it was a blur of phone calls and running Lucy to the vet to get a final check on her "Bowie Bug" of the last week. She's clear of course but just a little blonder as the result, I'm afraid.
Friday was a long day for me-- I started reviewing an RFP for a University in the southeast region at 7:30am and got off the phone with the last customer at 5:45pm last night. I was exhausted and completely burned out from work yesterday. On top of the usual contract stuff, however, I also did 4 loads of laundry and helped the repair guy with our security alarm company fix the problem with the glass break alarm (hopefully).
As it turns out, I've still got a document to work on either today or tomorrow but they are minor changes I think (I'm not sure I remember the conversation now!). The rest of my weekend is going to be spent SEWING!!! I haven't done any sewing (except a couple of mending things) in almost a month! Man, I'm having withdrawals here!
I'm starting on my sister- and mother-in-laws' Christmas presents. They are first and then there are some towels to make for Christmas, too.
I also want to write to my friend, Pat today or tomorrow-- I owe her an email but I've just had the week from heck. She'll understand that so I'll get to her response this weekend, hopefully.
If anything exciting happens, I'll come back and let you know about it-- in the meantime, have a good one!
Wednesday, September 15, 2004I'm Hooked
I don't remember when it was that we (Brian and I) started to watch "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". I know that it wasn't the first season. I know we didn't watch the first season. On the regular Thursday night line-up, its the only thing I have to watch-- its one of the few television shows I watch on "commercial" television. (By the way, I don't like "CSI: Miami"-- can't stand David Caruso-- but I'm willing to give CSI:NY a shot.)
Then a week or so ago, Spike-TV has started carrying ALL of the CSI episodes for the past umpteen years-- cool!! I'm hooked all over again!!! The thing that I find interesting about Spike-TV is that its supposed to be "television for men" but I seem to like much of there "regular" programming like "Police Videos", ST:NG, and CSI. Silly how we stereotype things, isn't it?
Visiting Month
Nope, I'm not going anywhere-- for a change! Next month, my niece (Natali-- remember her?) is coming in for a weekend visit. Its been a long time since she's come for a weekend even though we just saw her last year at her brother's wedding.
Then, on the tail-end of her 4-day weekend, in comes Marli from Brasil! Cool-- Marli can get the week off at the same time as me so we're going to sit around and quilt and talk quilting and go quilt fabric shopping (mostly for her, I'm sure). It will be TONS of fun!!
Other than that, the mosquito bites are settling down so I'm going to get over my heebie-jeebies if it kills me! Of course, as maddening as this is, sometimes it feels like its going to kill me!!
Take care and have a good night!
Monday, September 13, 2004Heebie-Jeebies
I've got some mosquito bites from sitting outside Friday night-- "some" as in about 30 or 40 on each foot and ankle! Yes, I'm in pain but more so, is the problem of the itching/scratching. I've been taking Benadryl and Caladryl but I am still scratching and uncomfortable. HUGELY!!! I'm about to go mad-- I can tell that much. Oy!!
Incoming!!!
Next month, my niece Natali is coming to visit for a weekend-- that should be tons-o-fun, eh? She'll arrive on a Friday and, my friend Marli will be arriving on Sunday. We'll be double-booked for couple of days but it'll be worth it! I'm really looking forward to both visits!
I know this is short but, the "Heebs" are getting to me-- gotta distract myself for awhile.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening!
