Yeah, I've been here but had very little to say. Other than getting ready for the party last night and Lucy getting sick/going to the hospital, I don't remember anything, other than work that I did. Its really sad when it all flies by that quickly.
Labor Day we did nothing but stuff that we wanted to do-- it was the only semi-relaxing day Brian had all weekend. Tuesday was back-to-work day and busy because, afterall, this is an end-of-quarter month for me. On Wednesday we awoke to a very sick Lucy; I knew the vet would want to run tests on her all day so I called them first thing when they opened in the morning. Sure enough, I brought her in and they called me within the hour-- she had the town bug which was causing intestinal inflammation and bleeding. Poor Baby!
Thursday morning Molly and I were both kinda lost without Miss Lucy underfoot and, by 3pm, I was on the road to picking her up-- I had to get my girl! Thursday evening, we put the finishing touches on the house clean-up and I did what I could for the set-up. By the time everyone (there were 4 of them) arrived last evening, everything was set up and ready to be cooked/baked, drank or eaten.
The menu consisted of an appetizer of cheese balls (a Brasilian thing) and for dinner teriyaki chicken, "smashed" cauliflower (with cheese, of course), dinner rolls and broccoli-based salad. Nummy!! Of course, the drink for the festivities was based on a gift from Marli, the office manager/admin in Brasil-- We had rum (the binga bit) capparingas (I think that's the correct name of the drink) and vodka capparingas-- basically lime-aide with rum and vodka (not mixed). Nummy and nummier!!!
Tons-o-fun was had by all and at about 1:30am, after losing two of the original partiers to the obligations of going home (exceedingly sober-- none of us were anywhere close to "drunk"), we headed off to our respective beds. In the morning, Jennifer and Patty were awakened by me asking them what time they wanted to get up-- well, wasn't that a silly question?
We then had coffee, juice and water until breakfast and continued to talk and talk and talk and talk. We talked for hours last night (obviously) and this morning-- they left around 12:30 or 1pm this afternoon. A good time was definitely had by all!
Our neighbor across the street invited me over for a MaryKay party and, I went-- I bought, I conquered. Actually, I need a good skin care program and this seems to be it-- I'm looking forward to working with it.
SOOOOO, that catches you up on my week. Thanks for your patience-- I'll try to be more faithful but, if nothing's happening, what can I say?
