As in yesterday was . . . at least, I don't remember it and that's part of the medicine they give you: it purposely causes amnesia. That's a Good Thing in my book. Hopefully, we'll get to the bottom of things shortly and find out what's wrong when we get the full report, if anything is wrong. Nothing serious as of yesterday which is a good thing also.
Another Round
Today saw me at my endocrinologist's office early-- always appealing, too, let me tell ya! The good news is that I don't have to go again for a year but I do need blood tests in between. If the blood tests come back hokey, then I have to go in for an appointment but otherwise, I'm finished for awhile there.
Other than a dentist appointment, for a teeth cleaning, later this month, I'm done for awhile on doctors. Thank goodness! This stuff is so annoying and takes SOOOOO much time!
Continuing Ahead
The rest of my day is set for work except for a nail appointment this afternoon. I'm going to get gels put on my nails, in a french manicure, so that I can stop chewing my cuticles. I don't remember chewing them when I had acrylics and gels are supposed to be healthy for the nail so between the two, I'm hoping I stop chewing again.
Tomorrow looks to be a full day of work with no appointments to clog things up except for phone calls with customers. Obviously, I can deal with that (because its my job) so I'm kinda looking forward to normalcy tomorrow.
Hope your day is normal but, if not, at least GREAT!
Tuesday, April 5, 2005Not to be Graphic
BUT, I am in "preparation mode" for a medical procedure tomorrow. The procedure will determine exactly how many of my father's genes I actually have received. No, it isn't a DNA study-- I wish it were! It is a study of another sort but let me explain the gene theory further.
My sister, Karen, and I have had this talk: it seems that there were a total of six pregnancies that my mother had during her child-bearing years. Karen and two other siblings seem to carry the characteristics of my mother and, my sister, Susan (the missionary) and I seem to share my father's genes. We've both had gall bladder problems, amongst other things.
The way we figure it, the pregnancy that didn't make it (#2), would share the problems that Sue and I share because we would be pregnancies #4 and #6, respectively. So far, she and I have shared everything (and yes, we are alerted to a possible rupture of my spleen that may occur in a few years), including our symptoms.
Soooo, if the results of tomorrow's tests conclude that I have a particular medical problem, that'll simply verify the entire thing again. I'm really sick and tired of being a guinea pig though, ya know?
Yeesh!!
Other than that . . .
It is a gorgeous day in the neighborhood. The sun is shining, nary a cloud in the sky and there is a slight breeze blowing outside. Beautiful for sitting and enjoying the day . . . if it weren't for that pesky work-thang. Oh, well, I do love that pesky work-thang so I'd better get back to it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Monday, April 4, 2005Good Day
Yesterday ended up being kind of a surprisingly nice day. Surprising from the standpoint that we got to spend more time than anticipated with my friend, Linda Rose. Originally, she and I were just going to do some shopping and then bid her adieu for her to finish out the evening at her folks' house. Unfortunately her mother got sick but it was fortunate for us! Linda Rose had dinner with us and we watched a couple of movies.
On the plane to California a few weeks back, I saw The Incredibles and loved it! I knew Brian would like it for the animation CGI stuff so we bought it at BJ's yesterday. Linda Rose told us about the "Jack-Jack Attack" short feature so we watched that first. VERY fun!
After dinner, we watched "Sky Captain" something which was okay-- I don't mind Jude Law (I am a human female, after all) but, as much as I like her mother (Blythe Danner), I cannot abide Gwynneth Paltrow. Talk about "Cold Play" . . . yes, pun intended.
Anyway, Linda Rose left shortly thereafter as it was getting late but boy, we had a riot while she was here! Can't wait for the next time I/we do something with her-- gotta get that in the works NOW or I'll calendars will get too booked.
Other than that . . .
There's not much happening around here. Back to the grindstone today although it is much smoother now than it used to be. The only "office politics" I have to deal with is Lucy's persistent barking which I am learning to shut out of my mind. (Smart, eh?)
Take care and have a good day!
