Much to do-- better get to it! Have a good one!
Wednesday, August 3, 2005There I Go Again
What can I say? I forgot because I was busy-- with stuff. I worked on a variety of projects including (but not limited to) work (DUH!!), embroidery and my book. Nary a dull moment around here as I've mentioned several times.
Did I Mention?
My cousin Barb and her sister (my other cousin) Shirley are coming for a visit in a few weeks. We're all very excited about it. Barb told Shirley that they would have to sleep together in the guest bedroom AFTER she told her that we had a six bedroom house. Shirley couldn't figure that one out until Barb told her about my office, Brian's office, and my sewing and fabric rooms. Needless to say, Shirley's expecting a mansion (which she won't find) but now she's even more excited for the visit.
Shirley and I are the same age, give or take a month or two, but I have had more communications (obviously) with Barb. Don't know why-- just turned out that way. It will be nice to spend time with both of them in any event.
The first day after their arrival is our only planned day so far-- we're going into DC for some touristy things including the Washington Monument tour. As a point of interest for those of you who may be traveling to DC in the future, you have to go to the National Park Service's website to buy tickets for the tour ahead of time. Your option is to be at the Monument at about 6am to get the tour tickets that they hand out that day. The tickets that they hand out are free, minus of course your lost sleep for having to show up at that hour. However, there is only a nominal charge ($5 for three tickets) charged on the website for the advance tickes.
Needless to say, my sleep is invaluable to me so I've opted for the advance purchase tickets. The balance of their trip will be surrounded by the themes of quilting and machine embroidery, no doubt. Shirley quilts also (altho not in awhile) so she won't be bored, believe me.
Enough-- work beckons (okay, so its screaming!). Have a good day!
Monday, August 1, 2005Didja Notice?
I posted yesterday!! In case you missed it, here's a link for you to check to see what I was writing on a Sunday.
Leisurely . . . Sorta
I spent most of the day yesterday, following errands, etc., sewing or running designs. I've got more to do, of course-- that's what Christmas is all about. I've decided that next year, no one is getting a homemade present but a store bought gift instead.
A very good reason behind that logic, actually. Remember when I said I wasn't going to do any sewing for anyone else this year and instead, make a couple of quilts for me and Brian? Yeah, well, I have yet to have time to make ONE for us so I'm going to not sew anything for anyone else next year. That'll have to do since I want to have time for us, too!
I'd better do some work-- have a good day!
