HappyBirthday,Robbie!!

Our nephew Robbie, in California, is having a birthday today-- he's six years old!!!  Wow-- he's gotten absolutely HUGE, too.  I saw he and his sister in California last summer and they'd gotten bigger so I'd imagine he's just growing like a weed!!

We sent a card (that hopefully arrives on time) and a book from Barnes & Noble (that also hopefully arrives on tme) but I'll make sure that we remember to call him later, too.

Christmas Lists

Yes, I've started my annual Christmas list-making and found myself to be a little overwhelmed by my commitments.  There are things that I would like to make for my mother- and father-in-law and sister-in-law's family but I don't know that I'll have time.  If I do, I will but not sure what I will be able to complete.

Someone also wants to hire me for quilt making but I'll have to see what they need before I can commit-- obviously.

Shorter and Shorter

I went to get my hair cut last night.  Every time I go, I get my hair cut a little shorter-- it is quite short now and I'm not sure that I'm happy with it yet.  The premise behind this is, of course, that you can cut hair shorter but you can't glue it on.  Once I find a style that I'm happy with, I'll stick to that one.  I've got to try this out for a week or so to see how I like it-- then, I'll know for sure.

Work Continues

Despite the fact that we had no email exchange with the outside world yesterday, work continued.  It was slow-- very slow-- but it was work and it got done.

Christmas plans are coming together as far as gifts are concerned, too.  I finished two yesterday which leaves only about ten things on my list-- not bad for September.

My artificial deadline for the first draft of my mystery is today.  I had no time to work on it last week so it is in the stage in which I left it two weeks ago-- not finished but darn close.  Oh, well, it is only an artificial deadline.

I'm Here

I know that you wouldn't know it by looking at my website but I am here.  I've been busy.  Work has been busy with last minute phone calls from customers closing deals (it is, after all, the end of a month) and with other stuff during the week at night.

Last week, while I was traveling, I found some new websites to download free designs at and, as a result, I've spent the last few nights downloading, unzipping, converting and sorting those designs.  I am usually able to keep up with it better when I'm at home but with the backlog formed as a result of the travel, I'm a little swamped.

3-Days!!

This weekend I plan to do a lot of sewing for Christmas presents and a lot of straightening up, too.  If all goes according to plan, there's going to be a machine embroidery gathering here on Saturday the 10th.  So far, the responses have been trickling in but I'm hoping for a deluge any minute now.

If the deluge comes, there's organization and cleaning up that's required in order to have room for everyone's embroidery machines.  It'll be a fun day if it comes together.

At any rate, I'll try to be more faithful about posting.  Even my sister, Karen, yelled at me the other day because I've been so lax in posting-- gotta improve on that one, eh?
