Yesterday . . . Again

In the morning, I went out to a local JoAnn's to buy a rope to act as the belt for the robe that I'm making for myself.  The robe is an off-white, light weight chenille that comes to my knee.  The hotel at which I'll be staying in California doesn't have a room bathrobe so I wanted to have one that won't take up the entire suitcase, keep me warm and still be functional at the same time.  I stopped on my way home to pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy so I'm set for awhile until we get the new health insurance set up.

When I got home, I finished hemming the robe and set it and some fabric to washing.  It came out of the laundry really fluffy!! Then, as usual, I took a nap . . . for nearly 3 hours.  I was tired and apparently, more tired than I had expected.

Crazy Quilt Time?

If I get a chance, I'm going to start working on the Crazy Quilt tablecloth that I'm making for Lauree, at the office.  It is my full intention to fulfill all of the promisees that I made for gifts to the administrators-- I'm kinda proud of my reputation of follow-through.  Additionally, I expect that she will remain a friend for years to come so it would be nice to give her this gift.

Of course, playtime starts after we get the laundry started and run our errands.

Have a good day!

Yesterday

Yesterday happened-- no, you do not need to adjust your television sets.  Its just that I had a fairly busy day and evening and was too tired to put up a post last night.  Sorry . . . I'll try not to let it happen too frequently, okay?

I started out the morning yesterday with an appointment and, once that was finished, scurried home to do a few hours of work.  At about 12:30, I went off to Tomorrow's Treasures to attend a class that I had had scheduled as part of my Christmas present from Brian (the Electric Quilt 5 software and books).  Apparently, Lee's memory had wiped clean again since our chat on Monday and she completely forgot about my going to this class.  (More on that in a minute.)

The class was fun and informative although I had already learned the basics that were discussed.  I did find out how to load my fabric into the libraries permanently which is what I really wanted to do-- I have a lot of pictures to take!

After that class was finished, I dropped my computer and stuff at the house and went over to a happy hour for a Sales Engineer that is leaving the company to be a sales rep at another company.  Nope, after four years of working with my company, they decided that they wanted to keep him as an SE and not advance him to sales.  He said, "Oh, yeah?" and got himself a sales job somewhere else.  Sooo, all of that knowledge walks out the door.

Speaking of knowledge walking out the door . . . after I had been at the happy hour for an hour, Lauree and Lee both told me that John had been desperately looking for me.  Oh, that's good-- wait an hour to tell me that I have emails and voicemails waiting for me.  I reminded Lee of the class that I had been attending, excused myself and came home to do some work.  I contacted John and we called California and so on and so on.  Eventually, the problem is not resolved but the issue is that I really know a lot . . . and, until last night I hadn't thought of this but, I really know a lot and they are going to be hurting for awhile because of it.

I won't go down that path now-- I just don't feel like it.

Webcrawling

Have you seen my stats?  Some "things" have been crawling my webpage big time this month!  WOW!!  Obviously, this is going to the highest month ever but . . . WOW!!

Thanks for stopping by, however, if you're the "real" kind of person as opposed to a webcrawler.  I appreciate it and I appreciate hearing from you periodically.  Take care and have a great day!

One Week To Go!!!

Thank goodness!!  The more I go through this transition period, the happier I am with my decision.

'Nuf said?  Yep, I thought so, too!

Current Reads

In the last week, I've read "Dyed to Match" by Deborah Donnelly, "Access Denied" by Donna Andrews, and "Evans Above" from Rhys Bowen.  (And, yes, I've also finished the baby quilt-- pictures to come over the weekend.)

I'm currently working on "Evan Help Us" also in the "Constable Evan Evans" series by Rhys Bowen.  I can't pronounce any of the names of people, places, and cities in Wales in this book but I am enjoying the writing style and plot development.  I've got all of the books in my possession or en route to me for delivery.  I can see this being a series I enjoy reading over and over again.

That's about it for me tonight-- busy day tomorrow: appointment in the morning, two or so hours of work, followed by a class for my Electric Quilt 5 Christmas present from Brian . . . fun awaits!

Have a good evening!

Boring!!

Granted, I have a short-timer attitude but, when I get a total of 7 emails for the entire day, yes, I'm going to leave work early.  Yes, those 7 emails include ALLLLLL of the emails for the entire day-- before and after I left the office.

I left around 1:30pm.  I got to the office this morning at 8:15+/-.  One of my co-workers got to the office about 10:40am+/- and the other one got there about 11am+/-.  The two of them left with some of the other office people for lunch at 11:45am and, by the time I left the office, they weren't back yet.

Oh, did I mention that Lee took the day off?  Yeah, I know-- the work ethic of the young, huh?

Oh, well, I've only got 6 more days to work there-- YEAH!! Of course, that doesn't count Friday which is my work-from-home day and oh-by-the-way, I hav a class for my Electric Quilt 5 program on Friday afternoon.  Nope, I don't feel guilty at all-- see above if you want any kind of explanation.

I guess that's all the preaching I have to do for one night-- have a good evening!

Plans are Afoot

Plans are being made for my going away party-- here, in part is the "invitation" that was sent out today to my region:

After 5 years, thousands of agreements, ten's of thousands of phone calls, many millions of dollars, and too many laughs to calculate, Marcia Bilbrey has decided to move on. It is with regret that we let her go. She is
going on to tackle new challenges in the software industry, and has promised to stay in touch.
Yep, its getting tougher.  One of my favorite sales reps called today and, as usual, we started getting our swipes at each other going.  I said to him, "You're gonna miss me when I'm gone!" to which he replied "Well, its a good thing I'll never have to experience that!".  It was then that I realized that John hadn't told the reps in Atlanta.  Whoops-- "Uh, dude, there's something you gotta know . . . "

He was shocked.  Yeah, that's the way its going these days.

Fun Parts

The nice part of this whole situation is that there isn't a whole lot going on right now-- there usually isn't in January-- and, as a result, we're having a lot of fun.  That's making this an enjoyable two weeks, for sure!

Hope you're having an enjoyable whatever!

Sinking Feeling

As the news of my imminent departure travels through the company, the reactions are mixed and varied and extremely interesting.  The range is from complete shock and disbelief to expressions of doomsday occurrences.

Quite humorous, really, especially from the observation standpoint.  I'll keep you posted as things transpire and let you know if anything outrageously interesting occurs.

Other than that . . .

There hasn't been a whole lot happening around here.  I've been working on a baby quilt which will be finished later this week-- at least, I'm pretty sure it'll be finished later this week.

Have a good one!
