Errands and Errands

I've got lots of errands to run this morning and then I come back and pack!  Brian, in the meantime, is going to be working on building the planter boxes for our raised bed garden.  I'm sure he'll have pictures later on today.

After all of the above, my co-worker, Judy and her husband and father are coming over for dinner.  It will be the last time that we can see them as a unit since they'll all be moving back to California in about a month.  I'm sure they won't stay later since I have to fly out tomorrow and then, of course, I fly out tomorrow.

Have a good week!!

Things I Will Miss While Traveling

-Brian, of course!
-Lucy
-Molly
-Molly flipping my arm with her nose so I can pet her
-Working from home (its amazing how quickly I adapted!)
-My own cupboard/fridge to go to so I can stay on plan
-Working out at my own Curves; I'll work out at the hotel but it won't be the same
-Seeing the Gene Wilder interview thru the Smithsonian Associate program

Things I Will Not Miss While Traveling

-Lucy's incessant barking at anything within her visual/hearing range
-Molly flipping my arm with her nose so I can pet her

Oh, Well

There are too many positives in this job-- did you notice how there are more of those?  I have to say that I don't think I've ever been happier in my professional life.  Changing jobs was the best thing that I've done in a long time.

Preparations are Afoot

I've gotta make a run to BJ's today-- too many things that I need to avoid it.  I'll be going there and, since I only had one thing on the list from Safeway, I'll avoid that one altogether.  Tomorrow, I've gotta make a run to LA Weight Loss and then to JoAnn's.  I got a $40 card from the credit card company yesterday and I need to get some fabric for the binding on a quilt that I'm making-- at least this way, there's no actual out-of-pocket money happening; I'll do that run tomorrow though.  Hopefully, we'll get the car back before I leave but in any event, I have to return the rental car-- if I need it when I get home, I'll get another one.

So many things to do, so little time to do them in!!

Guess that's it for today-- have a GREAT one!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

Since I'm "Orange Irish" (Protestant, don'tcha know), I'll write my post in Orange today-- should be appropriately annoying, don'tcha think?

Yeah, but that's why its MY website!  ;>)

Sweet but Not Quite There Yet

My dear, Brian, referred to me as "getting buff" today-- how sweet and I would've expected nothing less from him because he is and always has been very supportive of me.  However, I'm far from it-- I am, however, getting into clothes that I haven't gotten into in awhile.  Also, I bought some new leggings (which I live in during the winter-- love 'em!) a little before my last trip to California.  I wanted to have some that were in nicer condition to wear at the corporate office.  Alas, I apparently bought them in the wrong size-- one smaller than I was at the time!!!  Man, was I ticked off!!

I tried them on yesterday and they are almost too big!  YEAH!!!  Yes, I'll be wearing them and some of my other pants that I haven't worn in awhile at the office next week-- its a REALLY good feeling!!!

That's about it for today-- sorry there's nothing major to report but, some days are like that-- Have a good one!

Plans and Preparations

I'm setting up evening activities with friends and family in the San Francisco area next week.  I've scheduled a meeting-like dinner with Brian's parents; I can take BART to them (which keeps me from having to drive through the Caldecott Tunnel-- I can't stand riding through it!).  I'm hoping to catch my friend, Pat for a dinner and Debra and her daughters are hopefully going to be able to join me for lunch one day, too.  I haven't seen her oldest since she was about 14 months old (she's now somewhere around 28 months old!) and the baby, Roquel, I've never met so I'm looking forward to that, too.

New Project

Brian and I are going to be helping my sister, Karen, with a project in the next few weeks.  Truth be told, Brian will end up doing most of the work because he's really good at what he does and I'll be drafting what I can to assist.  The work is on a website for an organization that Karen (and her husband) donate their time to during the course of a year.  They go to Mexico and build houses and churches.  While the organization has a website, I'm not going to link to it simply because its a pretty broken website.  When we (mostly Brian) have finished the work, we'll of course point you to it.

In the meantime, I'd better get to work.  Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

Say That Again?

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I wouldn't mind traveling to Europe.  Unfortunately, I'll only be going as far as California . . . NEXT WEEK.  Judy called me yesterday morning and asked me to cover for her at corporate next week.  Otherwise, she would've had to stay out there for two weeks, missing Easter with her family.  As a result, I'll be flying out on Sunday (packing on Saturday, shopping on Friday) and returning the following Saturday.  If I wanted to come home in the wee hours of Saturday morning I could but I know that neither Brian or I wouldn't appreciate that much.

It'll be good to be at corporate-- maybe meet a few more faces to put with the names and voices and also get a feel for what corporate is like at the end of the quarter.  The CFO agreed that it was a good idea for me to do that so, I'll be there.  Never fear: the hotel has a work out facility!

One of the unfortunate things about going to California is that I can't make the Gene Wilder interview that we were going to attend at the Smithsonian.  Brian can't go anymore because he has to come home to take care of the dogs.  I'm going to call today to see if we can give the tickets to someone to attend-- one of my friends was very envious that we were going-- and at least the tickets won't go to woaste.

Unfortunately, because of the trip, I'm not going to be able to work with a friend's daughter sew a dress for Easter.  I had really thought that would be a lot of fun for both of us-- me, not having any kids, I like to borrow them from time-to-time.  I feel really badly that I can't help with the dress but I just won't be here to finish it which, obviously, isn't a good thing.

Speaking of Working Out

I went to Curves this morning and got measured-- I've lost 19.25"!!!  Yes, that's very good and yes, that means I'd gained a lot of weight again.  I was so miserable at the last job that food was my comfort which isn't good, obviously.  That's just another reason that I was glad to leave there-- any job that does that to you is just not healthy!  I'm glad to be rid of the joint, needless to say.

I best get to work-- thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Have a good day!

New Assignments

The director of the contracts department at my new company has gone to Europe to finish out the quarter.  (Yes, I'm jealous but I'll talk more of that later.)  As a result, she sent out an email that notes that for the next 8 weeks, I'll be covering the East (with my co-worker's assistance, thankfully), the West and APAC.  Yes, that means I'll be covering Japan, Singapore, etc.  Yeesh!!  Talk about time-zone differences!!

The job description for my position says that there is a bit of world travel involved in my position.  This is true and, in fact, we (my co-worker, mostly) think that this is the last trip that the director will be making to close out the quarter in Europe.  That means, hopefully, that I'll be going next time!  YEAH!!!  I would love to spend a month in Europe-- yes, I would miss Brian and The Girls but, it is Europe!!  We'll see how that one comes out-- I keep trying to get Brian to make work of getting his passport so that he can join me.  Perhaps you, my gentle readers, can remind him more for me??

Big Day Tomorrow

Well, hopefully, its a smaller day, really-- I get my first measurement after being at Curves for a month.  I know I've lost inches but I'm curious to see how much I've lost-- hopefully, its good news that I can share with you.  (I might not say anything if I've gained!)  ;>)

Anyway, have a good day and stay out of trouble, okay?
