Missed It!

Oh, well, I had a ton of running around to do yesterday so I'm not surprised.  I came back from the first two-- no, three-- things and then went back out about 30 minutes later for the last appointment.  So, it was running, running and, yes, more running.

Much and More of the Same

Today will be pretty much the same thing; I've got errands to run with Molly this morning and then, I've also got things to do in the early afternoon.  Then tonight, we're getting together with friends at their house for an enjoyable dinner.

I'm trying to finish up a couple of sewing projects so there may be pictures here soon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day!

Busy Is as Busy Does

Nice to know things don't change all that much from one employer to the next.  I started at about 7:30 yesterday morning, worked on a couple of agreements throughout the day and, was still at it at 6:30 last night.  I was caught on the phone as there was some confusion about language we drafted on a document.  The customer covered us so its no problem now.  I'll know to make the language clearer the next time it comes up.

Beat and Beaten

Usually, by the time I get through work, I'm beat.  Especially this past week when I've been suffering from jetlag in addition to just plain being tired.  I've been trying to drink a cup of coffee about 5 and then, continue reading or whatever.  Last night, however, because Brian had to go downtown, I not only drank the coffee and read a bit but I also shuttled him to the Metro station, came back, made The Girls their dinner, made my dinner (thankfully from people food) and then, read some more until "Lost" came on.  That was enough activity to have me "jump-started" for the night but yet tired when it came to bed time.

So, in an effort to thwart exhaustion, I'm going to drink my coffee at the usual time and read for a bit tonight.  THEN, I'm going to go upstairs and do some sewing before I make dinner.  Hopefully, it'll make a difference and I won't be sleepy.  HOPEFULLY, is the operative word, of course.

In Other News

I've only got 19 days until I go to the American Quilt Show-- excited?  Me?  NO!!!  What would give you that idea?

My camera broke last week, just as I was about to start photographing the fabrics in my quilt room for installation on EQ5 so I'll be borrowing Brian's to finish it out until we get a camera for me.  The one we want isn't available anymore so Brian's looking for another source or another camera.

Later or Never?

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to work out and go to get a blood draw for my thyroid, followed by a doctor appointment.  Then, after I get home and am able to work for about 45 minutes, I'll be going to the dentist office for a quick check on my teeth.  As a result, I'll either be late or will not get a post up until Saturday but, I'll try hard to put something up, okay?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

And So It Begins

I've got a document and call with a customer this morning in an effort to try to get the document finished before the end of the quarter.  Should be fun as he thinks there's a huge roadblock in our way but I know that the roadblock has been removed.  He'll be enlightened on our call and that will be sufficient.

Read Book

As I mentioned earlier, I've started keeping a book of books I want to either buy or get from the library.  One of those books is a series about "Camilla McPhee", a Canadian attorney who ends up playing sleuth in order to solve the mysteries that happen around her.  MaryJane Maffini does an excellent job in this series keeping the reader engaged and entertained.  I believe I've got all but two of the currently released books and the new one, since it won't be released until some time in the fall of this year.  Good series, and highly recommended.

Back in the Swing of Curves

As difficult as it was to keep up with exercise on the road (because they don't have the same machines as my Curves does), it is easier to be back into the swing of things by going early to Curves.  I really enjoy it and it feels good to do the work.  I just hope I didn't lose a lot by not doing the same kind of work-out when I was traveling.

That's all for now, more as it may or may not develop.  Have a Good Day!

Countdown

Unlike my last job, this job is a lot more fun and, as it goes for the end of the quarter, it is also a lot of fun.  I really enjoy working with these folks and, because it is an enjoyable place to work, it makes it easier to cope with the end of quarter stress.  I guess that makes sense.

Car Update

We got the car back yesterday!!  Yes, it has been five weeks and oodles of money (deductible and car rental, which we should be reimbursed for) but we have finally got the Elantra in our possession.  Granted Brian couldn't "open it up" on the drive home last night but he says it doesn't drive any different which is always a concern when you have a car with as much damage as it had from the accident.  Nice.

I can't remember what I was going to post about today-- I almost forgot to post!  Anyway, have a good one!

Activities of Last Week

Obviously, you know I flew out last Sunday so that's a "duh" on my part.  After arriving, I checked into the hotel and unpacked.  Checked my email, etc.  I can't remember much else.

On Monday I went ot the office and met with the corporate team for our op call and, our after work, I went back to the hotel.  I worked out although their machines are nothing like the machine I'm used to working on so I'm not sure how much good I did but, at least I didn't do any harm.

Later that evening, since I don't watch television, I finished reading Nancy Martin's "Dead Girls Don't Wear Diamonds".  As I wrote to the author, its a good thing I didn't read Chapter 16 on the plane-- the flight attendants and other passengers would've voted me out of the plane at 31,000 Feet!!!  I laughed hysterically in this chapter!!  I would finish reading one sentence and laugh and laugh and finally get myself controlled and read the next sentence and start all over again!  It was a hysterical!!!  A highly recommended read, needless to say.

Tuesday I went to work and after work, went back to the hotel to drop off my computer and take the shuttle to SFO to pick up BART.  Thankfully, they finished the extension of BART to include SFO and it made it REALLY easy to go to Orrinda to see my in-laws.  It was great to see them, too!!  When things happen (to them) and we're not around, its good to see them in person to know that they're okay.  They are okay and in good health!  We spent a little time at their house talking and laughing and then went on to dinner.  They brought me back to the BART station and I went back to the hotel.

On Wednesday, I went to work and afterwards, went to the hotel "gym" to work out again.  Then, I went upstairs and ordered dinner and continued to read the new book I'd started on the train on Tuesday: "Shop til You Drop" by Elaine Viets.  Another good read, in fact, I finished this one on Thursday evening.

Thursday, my friend, Debbie came over to the office with her two kids: Adina and Roquel.  I hadn't even "met" Roquel and hasn't seen Adina since she was about 18 months old so it was good to see them!  SWEET kids, just like their name!  ;>)

Thursday evening, my friend, Pat and I went to dinner again at the hotel.  We laughed because we've probably seen each other in the last two months more than we'd seen each other in the years that we lived in California!  We had a wonderful chat-- that's the funny with best friends: you never run out of topics of conversation!

Friday was my busiest day at work all week.  Everyone wanted some of my time which was flattering but frustrating.  I managed to get everything done though and that's the important part.  On Friday evening, I worked out and then went back up to my room to pack up.  I finished that and did some research on the web to find some new books.  Like my friend, Barbara, I've started a book of authors and titles that I want to read.

I found some good titles and was armed with them in my head when I went into the airport to try to find something to read on the way home.  Although I didn't want to purchase any of her books, the only mystery I was able to find was by Patricia Cornwell so I reluctantly bought that; the balance of the series will be checked out of the library.

Saturday was spent flying home.  The first flight, I was in row 9 and on the second and last leg, I was in first class.  Not shabby, by any means.  At least I was served dinner in First class so that made it a little easier to not be overly excited about getting off the plane-- i ate dinner at a decent hour and that was nice.

Yesterday, I spent the day trying to stay awake.  After Brian and I finished our errands, I went about the task of finding some other things that I wanted like a replacement hair clip for the one that broke on my trip.  I also picked up a couple of more books and had hoped to find a JoAnn's open but that was not to be the case.

I went home and read for about a half hour before giving up and taking a one-hour nap.  That seemed to do the trick and I was fine the rest of the evening, having also no problem in falling asleep at night.

That brings me up to date and today will be spent trying to get my office back in order and work, of course.

More tomorrow, I'm sure-- have a good day!
