TGIF!!

And I mean it!!  Man, I'm tired!!  I am most definitely and assuredly READY for a weekend.  Not that it is going to be all that much more restful-- we need to do a bit of housekeeping and, of course, I need to continue to work on my major tablecloth.  While it is usually a joy to work on, it is getting to the point where the bugger is heavy and hard to move around.  Needless to say, that matters not as I will work on it until it is finished.

Later Start

I got a later start in posting today because of working out and having a conference call with a customer early this morning.  I'm also working the laundry but have just started it since I didn't want to deal with it while I was on the conference call-- wise choice, I think-- don't you agree?

At any rate, there's much to do so I'd best get to it-- have a great one, okay?

Slept Late

This morning I slept late because, after leaving home/office around 3pm for an appointment, I felt obligated to do some work after we got home from class.  In addition to feeling obligated and knowing that there were some things  I was trying to resolve and get out before I left, since they weren't finished with all of the needed input, I couldn't send them out.  So, after we got home from the Smithsonian, I worked for a little over an hour.

The biggest problem with that is that my mind was "going" when I went to bed.  Even though I read for awhile, I was still not unwound sufficiently for falling asleep.  That, of course, lead to my over-sleeping this morning.

It takes me 20 minutes to get organized (dogs fed and outside, etc.) before I go to work out.  If I'd taken that time, I wouldn't be home from working out until 7:30 which is too late-- I need to start work, at the latest, by 7:30.  Well, that's my "need", not anything that has been dictated to me.

Anyway, so my whole day is messed up now cuz I didn't work out-- I'll live but I'm thinking I'll go on Saturday as well as tomorrow to "make up" for missing today.

Sticking to the Schedule

Speaking of sticking to the schedule, the instructor held better to the lesson plan this week than last.  Most of what she discussed last night was last week's lesson but at least she stuck to the topics at hand.

Next week, there will be an additional lecturer someone who is a reviewer of books for the local newspaper.  Aa forensic detective is coming in a few weeks and that's one that I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Anyway, I'd better get to work-- have a good day!

So Far, So Good

By the end of my x-ray yesterday, I knew I didn't have the family hiatal hernia and I don't have stomach ulcers.  That's all the doctor could tell me without really studying the films.  That, in and of itself, is good news.

Back to School

Tonight, we're back to our class at the Smithsonian again.  In this class, Noreen Wald, will be "teaching" us about character development, particularly the main character development.  It is a good thing to have a "main character", obviously.

Busy Is

Today appears to be a busier day at the "office".  I like that, obviously.  I've got a conference call at 9 that will probably run a full course of two hours-- lots of fun.  Yesterday, we had the first call but were only "granted" an hour-- it wasn't enough to get through the discussion since I was new to the document.  That's frustrating to the customer but hopefully, today's call will go a little smoother.

Gotta get ready-- you have a good one, okay?

Lucky Me!!

I get to have an x-ray this morning-- an Upper GI!!  It is to determine, along with several other test that I've had lately, what's wrong with my stomach.  News Flash: Heredity!!  Hiatal Hernias run in my family along with ulcers and a plethera of other wonderful ailments.

I am really excited about this though-- I don't get to eat anything until I get back.  Wow!!  Can you tell I'm excited?

Yeesh!!

The worst part is that I have an hour to kill.  An hour.  Not long enough to really start anything but long enough to wish I had something to eat and I won't even go into missing Brian's coffee.

Yeesh!!

Hope your day is better than mine!

What Can I Say?

Its not that I have too many irons in the fire-- I don't think, anyway-- its just that I have a lot of things that I need to do on Sundays.  As a result, it is difficult to find the time to do everything.

So after Brian went to work and came home, we did the grocery run and went to Linda Rose's to pick up something we're going to store for her.  Then, I went out to pick up some stuff-- not fabric-- from JoAnn's and AC Moore.

Let's just say that I have a new name for the tablecloth that I'm making: "Off the Deep End".  Suffice it to say, I have taken Crazy Quilting to a new level, at least for me.  I'm contemplating not giving it to my friend as a gift but keeping it for submission to the AQS Show next year-- yes, its that good and different.

We'll see how things develop and I'll keep you posted on that front.

Good News

My sister and I had our call yesterday and good news abounded: 1) it has been a year since her first surgery (this is the experience that nearly killed her three times) and she's doing really well in her recuperation; and 2) they are getting a furlough in August and will be able to spend time with us in October-- here in Maryland!!!  YEAH!!!  I'm already excited about that, as you can imagine.

That's about it for today-- thanks for stopping by!
