Not much to report here today. I need to work on work, of course, but other than that, there's a table cloth that I'm making for a friend that I'd like to get finished SOOOOOON so I'll be working on that for the next few days. Over the weekend, I'm going to a sheep festival of some sort-- Linda Rose enjoys going so I'll go with her for something new and different this weekend. Also on Sunday, besides being Mother's Day, we're going to celebrate the wedding of a friend to a good guy-- we all know how hard they are to find.
No matter what, it'll be a busy few days. Hope you have a good one, too!
Thursday, May 5, 2005Break Time!!
I just finished 6 hours of grueling review on a document for a customer-- there were three hours spent on it yesterday and three hours this morning. I'm in dire need of a break!! I need input from one person that's in California but since its 7am there, I don't expect to hear back from them for awhile.
Fabric Libraries
The fabric libraries in my Electric Quilt are now complete!!! ALLLLL of my fabric is in the program so that when I design a quilt, I can use real fabrics-- very cool, needless to say! Now, I've got to finish up the embroidery designs download and unzip that I've been trying to finish for a few weeks. Once I get them done, I'm going to burn a copy in case something happens to my computer. Of the ones that were free downloads from the internet, I may make a copy for my cousin's use, too. Might as well share the wealth, eh?
Anyway, enough of that and time to get back to it!
Have a good day!
Wednesday, May 4, 2005Catch Up
I realized yesterday, while cleaning out my picture folders, that I hadn't posted the pictures of the pillows that I'd made for my friend, Jennifer and the quilt that I made for another friend, Angie. As a result, those pictures are below.
Today is a busy day at work so that's all you get-- thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Tuesday, May 3, 2005DONE!!
Last night, I finished the last of my re-organization of fabrics. To the left, you see the first "before" shot-- not a pretty sight, is it? Neither is the other "before" picture-- Frankly, I never took the time to organize after we moved in and was a little stymied because I didn't know what to do with the organization or how to go about it in the first place. For some reason, I was inspired last week and, on Saturday, began making up the different "signs" you see hanging from beneath each appropriate set of fabrics below.
Actually, there is more fabric in the "after" pictures above than in the "before" photos. Afterall, I spent a nice chunk of change at Hancock's of Paducah last week, remember? No, there is no shortage of projects at my house and I can't wait to get started.
In case my cousin, Barb, is reading this though-- I want her to know something: I _*WIN*_!!!!
Website Work
I'm going to see about getting started on some of the website work that needs to be done on the new site that Brian and I are going to take over. Let's see what I can come up with to help out, eh?
Have a good day/night!
Monday, May 2, 2005Whew!!!
Busy weekend-- I spent almost the entire time photographing, refolding and organizing my fabrics. I'm just about finished but need Brian's help with the last bit-- there's something about being 6'3" that I just don't have the capability of doing and leaving the end result looking as good as if he were to help me.
Believe it or not, I do have before and after pictures and, once everything is finished, I will post them so you can see why the situation has been improved vastly. In the meantime, you're just going to have to take my word for it-- it is a lot better organized than it was before and that's going to help me make quilts from what I have "in stock".
Other than that . . .
Its back to the grindstone today and, of course, I've already worked out today. I'm really enjoying it, let me tell ya!
Have a great day!
