Archive of Marcia's Musings September 12-18, 2005What Can I Say?
Not much has been happening around here and that can be a good thing. Wednesday evening I finished working on the stuff for the "paying" sewing job and brought it to the woman yesterday. She loved it (of course-- you thought what?) and happily handed over her check. It wasn't an easy job but it was a paying job.
Today, I've got to do the laundry because I wasn't able to do it yesterday. I had another lovely IBS attack-- yes, I've officially been diagnosed with it. While I don't like the symptoms, I do like being able to attach a name to it. It makes it easier to explain why I don't feel well sometimes. Of course, there's also the "yuppie-like" ability of claiming an "in" condition, too, but that's another story. Yesterday's attack was milder than some of the other ones I've had so I was grateful for that part anyway.
In addition, I'll be doing some sewing as I've still got three gifts to finish up before next weekend. I hope to be wrapping Christmas gifts next weekend-- that will seem a bit odd but it needs to be done.
I guess that's all for now-- have a great day, okay? Okay!!
Wednesday, September 14, 2005Guessing??
Am I keeping you guessing about when I'm going to post?? The good news is that I'm also keeping myself guessing! Work has been work-- it is an end-o-quarter month but things are going along swimmingly. (Like that enthusiasm? I thought you would!)
I've been sewing and embroidering again-- four t-shirts and a tote bag for someone (the paying gig) in addition to Christmas gifts for my family. I'm hoping to get these done so that my sister, Sue, can take them to Michigan in their car after their visit.
Sue and Bill are back in the States for a few months for furlough to raise funds for their continued work. They've got a lot of weekend trips planned to visit their churches and the home base of ABWE, which is coincidentally about two hours from here by car. Of course, they have to come visit!! It seems only right, doesn't it? Yes, we are looking forward to their visit, even though it falls in the week of the end of the quarter. It just means that I can't daytrip with them but I'll be doing enough of that the next week.
Anyway, I'm going to sign off for tonight-- take care and thanks for stopping by. Have a good one!
Tuesday, September 13, 2005Happy Birthday to Pat!!!
Pat is my friend in California. Pat and I have been friends longer than I've known Brian!! I miss not being around Pat-- we used to go shopping and movie-watching and just hang-out together with a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
Whenever I go to California, I always try to make sure to at least have dinner with Pat. We always talk and talk-- Best Friends are good to have.
Projects and Paying Projects
I'm working on Christmas stuff yet. Wall-hangings and pillows and table runners and t-shirts and nighties and ALLLLLL kinds of stuff! I'm also currently working a "paying" thing which involves four t-shirts and a tote bag. A recent tote bag that I made is pictured at left and right. I can charge upwards of $40 to $60 for these as they are personalized by giving the person whatever design they want-- I have a library of over 20,000 designs! They're made from "pet screen" (in which I have an abundance of colors) and embroidered directly on that-- really comes out nice!
Anyway, I'd better get back to work!
Have a great day!
Monday, September 12, 2005Change of Plans
Well, geography really. Instead of taking the planned vacation that I was going to take in a few weeks, I'm going to change the location. You see, Barbara Thompson and I were going to go to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine but, with the schedule of Bob's book being what it is, we've decided that we'll hang out and around North Carolina. We'll play golf, we'll take day trips-- believe me, we'll keep busy!
Of course, that leaves Brian home with Molly-- Lucy's going with me! Its too short of notice for him to get off from work and we had planned it to bea "Girls Only" trip. I'm sure we'll have a ton of fun!!
Other than that . . .
Nothing much is new and exciting around the Bilbrey Belfry. The bats are still here-- wom and others, of course-- and we're still hanging in for the end of the quarter at work! Lots of FUN!!
Have a good evening!
