Okay, so in addition to the "Fairy Tale" that I wrote in my Short Stories section, how did Brian and I get together?  What happened after that first cup of coffee?  Well, a lot of things happened and all of them VERY quickly!  My coffee dates usually lasted about an hour or two but, with Brian, well, it was a much longer, more pleasant day.  We went from the Starbucks in Milpitas (he lived in Union City-- YECH!!) to downtown San Jose to the Museum for an Alexander Calder exhibit and then, we walked around downtown San Jose for awhile, watching people but mostly watching each other.  Then, we drove on to Kelly Park in San Jose to walk there.  It was raining the whole time that we were walking but I don't think either of us noticed.

A series of phone calls and dinner invitations and one thing lead to another and he moved in with me . . . I wasn't stupid, I planned it so that he would do the moving while I was in Brazil on business.  That way I wouldn't have to do any of the actual moving.

I told him at the beginning of our second date NEVER to mention the "M" word around me but, of course, within about three weeks that's all he can talk about (okay, I'm sure he talked about other things-- its just that's all I remember hearing then).  My sisters were ecstatic because he was going to make an honest woman out of me despite my best efforts.  We went to Tahoe in mid-late March of 1998 where he threatened to pull into a wedding chapel.  Even though some of our friends and his parents checked our marital status upon our return, we weren't married but we were engaged within two more weeks and, married by May 30, 1998.

Swept off my feet?  Whirlwind?  Oh, no, I think I'd call it a land-borne hurricane!!
