Easy Shepherds Pie One 22 oz bag of frozen mashed potatoes
1 lb of ground beef
1 chopped onion
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon pepper, divided
1 cup or can of beef broth
1 large egg slightly beaten
1/2 cup of shredded cheese
Prepare the mashed potatoes according to directions.
While those are cooking brown the hamburger in a skillet with onions. Once brown add flour, beef broth, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper.
Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened, about 3 mins.
Pour into a greased casserole dish. An 8-1/2X11" makes it deeper since it fills the dish to full. Or you can use 11X17". It will not be as deep.
Stir together mashed potatoes one slightly beaten egg, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Spoon over meat mixture until covered
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Add cheese on top and bake another 5 minutes.
