Tired . . .

So I'm going to spend the day doing what I enjoy best: Shopping for fabric (for curtains/shades/somethings in the living room) and snoozing.

Have a great one!

FULL Day!!

Yesterday was a very full work day for me-- I got to work a little after 8, had lunch at my desk (missing lunch with the general counsel who came for a visit) and then, I left the office after 5, too!  The General Counsel had come to visit and take us to lunch but, because she arrived late and I had a call scheduled at 2:30, I wasn't able to go to lunch with them for fear that they wouldn't be back in time and I'd miss or be late for my call.  It turns out that they got back with plenty of time to spare but, had I gone with them, we wouldn't have been back on time-- I just know we wouldn't have!!  Bummer!

After I "got home" from work yesterday, I changed my clothes and headed back out to the grocery store (this is Plan B).  My original plan was to stop on my way home from work (Plan A) but forgetting the grocery list in the morning changed Plan A to Plan B.  Then I realized that we had six people for dinner and, even though Brian doesn't drink, that still left the possibility of needing 5 white wine or 5 red wine glasses and we only had 4 of each.  I stopped on the way home from the grocery and bought a 6-pack of each so we've got plenty for any occasion at our house from now on!!

After getting home at about 7, I made some dinner from leftovers for myself (Brian did the same) and at 7:30, I got started on the broccoli salad.  I finished that at 9 and sat down to rest my feet, knees, and back for a bit.  At 9:30, I finally started the clean-up of the kitchen and at 10pm, I tucked myself into bed!  Yeesh, I was exhausted!!

It was a VERY full day!!

Things To Do . . .

In addition to cleaning (Yes, Brian is going to have me helping him-- what a lucky guy, eh?), we've got to make a run to the seafood store for the salmon filet for dinner and a stop at a dessert shop I've just recently heard about.  Yes, another busy day is on the horizon so, I'm off!!

More later if time permits but, if I don't, have a nice morning, afternoon, evening and night!!

Always Too Much to Do!!

It never seems to end, does it?  Yeesh!!  Busy day at work, successful week (or two) at Weight Watchers (Yeah!!) and another busy night ahead.  Instead of sewing last night (because I couldn't find the top of my table), I ended up cleaning up my desk and my sewing table.  Now I'm set to where I can start to sew but, unfortunately, I don't have the time available tonight afterall!!  I'm kinda percolating an idea or two for Robbie's quilt but haven't been able to come up with a definitive decision yet.

More Progress Made

As we've told you, Sally hasn't been making the trip upstairs to sleep in our room (as before in Sunnyvale) since we've lived in this house.  Its been kinda quiet without the three of us snoring, too, let me tell ya!

Last night, as usual, we packed it in and went upstairs to go to bed-- I left Sally, asleep on the sofa (nose tucked into the corner the way that she sometimes does).  About ten minute later, however . . . jingle-jingle heard on the stairs!!  She found her way upstairs, in an almost dark stairway, and came to sleep by her Mommy and Daddy.

Unfortunately, being the over-protective Mommy that I am, I spent much of the night worrying about whether she was going to sleep okay or what would happen if she had to go downstairs or whatever.  I woke up several times during the night listening to her breathing (and panting since it is so much warmer upstairs than down) to make sure she's okay.  Yeesh!!  Could you imagine if I'd ever had kids?!?!?

Bosses' Night

Saturday night will be an entertainment night for Brian and I: we're going to have our bosses over for dinner!  Larry and Cheryl are coming from Brian's new work and Judy and Jim are coming from mine.  Should be loads of fun for all but there's a menu to plan and lists to be made so . . .

I'm outta here!!  Have a great evening, everyone!!

What a Way to Start MY Day!!

We're trying to close out the checking account in California with our soon-to-be (but NOT soon-enough-for-me) former "$tupid Bank" which, I swear, is run by incompetent 12-year olds!!

Last Thursday I called and told them that all of our checks had cleared and asked how to go about closing the account.  I was told that if I wrote a check for the amount in the account and got it to them by no later than September 21, I wouldn't get charged another statement charge.  Cool-- so I wrote the check and deposited it.  I did a download from Quicken this morning and guess what?  Yep, you guessed!!  The statement charge came in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ticked??  Me????  Oh, pulllleeeezzzee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That's way tooooooo mild for the amount of steam coming out of my ears at that particular moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I called and spoke with "Raven" (See what I mean about 12-year olds??).  Raven said that the girl that I spoke with last week obviously miscalculated the statement charge date (well, DAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and she would credit me the charge since I'd already written the check.  Gee, thanks!

Man, I am so glad to be getting out of that bank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If you live ibetween California and Illinois, and are contemplating opening an account at a bank, please contact me before you do: I will caution you about a bank that, no matter how many horses are dragging you into, you need to run away from as quickly as possible!!!!!!!!!!

Super Negotiator!!!!

Yes, I'm blowing my own horn again but I deserve it.  Last night, as I was leaving, Judy (my manager) asked me how many people I support.  I hadn't counted lately so I told her I'd get her the number in the morning.  BIG mistake!!!

In the balance of the East coast (not my region) there are 50 people that are supported by two other people.  Me?  Alone, I support Forty-Six (Count them: 4-6) people!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yikes!!!!  No wonder quarter-end kills me!!!!!

I now completely understand why I'm so tired at night!!!

*****

Speaking of which, I'm not for a change.  Its early (7:15pm) as I put up this post so maybe I can get some work done on my sewing for a change.  That would be nice!!

So I'm off-- have a great afternoon, evening and night!

Update at 8:45pm

Up and At It Early

Brian has a dentist appointment at 7am this morning and, since that means that he has to get up early, Sally and I rose early with him.  This is our first appointment with this dentist-- another of our "firsts" since being relocated.  He'll give me a call to let me know how it goes later-- I just hope that the guy has a sense of humor!!

By the Way . . .

I messed up: last week when I mentioned "Little Miss Thang", I failed to link that to Sally's page (I've corrected that now).  I assume ya'll knew what I meant but, in case not, let me tell ya: she is a jumping and stair-climbing fool these days!!  Saturday morning, she decided we'd slept enough so she came upstairs to wake us up!!  These days, whenever we go upstairs, there's no coaxing that needs to happen to get her to climb the stairs to follow us-- she comes and goes as she pleases!!

Black Out Period

Our quarterly black-out period started last Friday so I'll be once again honoring that by not telling a great deal of detail about negotiations that I'm involved in for sales.  That seemed to work out well enough at the end of the last quarter.  Suffice it to say, however, that it is very different being in the same time zone as my sales reps and negotiating.  As that difference is made clearer this quarter, it should be interesting to see how this quarter-close goes as opposed to the previous ones in which I've been involved.

More to come  . . .

Its 6:37am as I write this-- surely I'll be more awake later, right? ;>)

Have a nice day!!

And Here It Is!!

Never believe that I won't post a second time when I will.  That makes perfect sense, right?  Well, between Sally growling at me because I'm not paying sufficient attention to her, I can't guarantee how much time you'll get but you're going to get some (But Ma, I am calling!).

Happy Birthday, Leah!!!!!

Yes, indeedy, it is Leah Syroid's birthday!!!

Rumor has it that Leah has received a new computer for her birthday-- yes, inquiring minds need to know: does this mean the return of her posts?  Inquiring minds are afraid to ponder that one!!  Yes, indeedy!!

Actually, with Leah receiving a computer for her birthday, it means that for those of you who sent her email six months ago and think she has spurned you by not responding, fear not: she just hasn't read her email in about six months.  We figured she'll be "caught up" on her email-reading in about three months so you've only got a little longer to wait until she gets to yours!!

In the meantime, let's flood her Outlook now by emailing her a Happy Birthday greeting of your very own!!

Long and Busy Day

The problem with Brian having a dentist appointment at 7am is that the rest of us had to get up at that time, too!  Then, I got to work early and stayed late to finish up a deal with a customer.  Yowza, I hope that doesn't happen often!!  As it was, I went to bed at 9:30pm last night, not being able to hold my eyes open any longer!!

Tomorrow should be a shorter day (or at least more normal), I hope!!

In the meantime, I'm going to let you go and ponder these thoughts.  Have a nice afternoon, evening, night and I'll catch you back here tomorrow night!

Quite certain that this day happened . . . it just got lost in the shuffle of busy-ness.
