The Center of my Universe is changing slightly . . . the answer is different today than it was yesterday. Go tell him how happy you are for him!!
Later . . .
Friday, April 23, 2004Finally a Weekend!!
Man, am I ready for this!! Its been another long week around the Bilbrey Belfry. I suppose because there was so much accomplished last weekend that it didn't feel like we had any time off!
Oh, well-- not so for this weekend: we've got absolutely nothing planned and, by the looks of it, the weather is going to cooperate so we won't be tempted to over do it! (Its raining!)
On Sunday we were going to go to the Spring Fling in Olde Town Bowie but, if it rains, who knows if they'll have it (or that we'll want to go!).
Daily?
I hope to keep doing this on a daily basis: I've been exercising. So far, for the last three days, I've done something different for exercise: Wednesday, Lucy and I went for a walk, on Thursday the aerobics tape and today, I rode my bike. I don't know how far but enough that I felt the burn of unused muscles! I've already got a walk planned for tomorrow-- I hope and if not, then the tape again. Who cares if I don't have any rhythm!!
Other than that, nothing much is happening around here.
Have a good evening!
Thursday, April 22, 2004Nice Try
I tried to go to work today-- I really did. I showered, got dressed and got in the car. I drove about a mile away and turned around and came home. I've either picked up a bug someplace or my tummy doesn't like what I'm eating. What I'm eating, as in "New Food" is (are you ready?) . . . STRAWBERRIES!!!!!
You see, they (the folks at the Center) tell me that my body has gotten too used to the foods I always eat so I have to "change things up" a bit. Okay, well, I do like the flavor of strawberries-- its just the memories that are invoked when eating them. So I bought some strawberries yesterday at the store and had a few for breakfast-- bingo! Now, I've got problems.
I won't go into the "Too-Much-InfoLand" for you, okay? Suffice it to say, I'm working from home today.
Multi-Tasker
I've always been rather proud of the fact that I am a strong multi-tasker at work-- I can do a gazillion things at once. Put me in front of an aerobics tape however, and any and all rhythm in my body screams running from the room!!! I cannot follow the rhythm or the steps that I'm supposed to do without giving up one or the other of them-- I can do one thing but I cannot do two things at the same time.
As I was chuckling about that to myself this morning, I thought about the fact that it was a good thing that Brian and I didn't meet on a dance floor because we wouldn't have!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeesh!!!
More later after the fever subsides . . . have a good morning!
Wednesday, April 21, 2004I'm Tired
I'd say that's nothing new but, it is, after all only Wednesday!! I'm usually not this tired until Thursday-- one day makes a big difference.
Besides working all day, after I weighed in (which I do not want to talk about), I came home and walked for a long distance with Lucy. I don't know how long it was but it was long-- even Brian made the comment that it was a long way. Sooo, I'm tired.
I'm going to turn in early and read until I fall asleep and, maybe I'll get up early and do some step exercising???? Well, you never know-- it could happen!
Have a good night!
Tuesday, April 20, 2004_*I-I-I-I*_ Forgot!!!
Yep, that's right-- I've forgotten to show you the pictures of my sister's wall-hanging!! I presented it to her upon their arrival and she loved it! I've got one picture here and the some of the others of the close-ups over on my quilting page, here. Enjoy!!
Tonight, I finished up some of the prep work for another wall-hanging that I'm working on and I received the wall-hanging pattern for the stained glass wall-hanging that I'm making for my sister, Susan, in Brazil.
Well, you see, its like this . . . I'm losing weight so I'm not going to sew clothes and I want to sew something sooooo, while my embroidery machine embroiders, I sew. That's easy, isn't it? Thanks, I thought so, too!
NOT a Dime a Dozen
I won't tell you where that came from but, let me tell ya: we're having a hard time filling the open contracts manager positions that we've got!! There are two in Maryland and I believe, there are also two in California! Wow-- most people around here (Maryland) have procurement and government experience but we need commercial experience and it needs to be someone who is strong of will and character, with broad shoulders who can take the abuses heaped upon them by angry AVPs. Yes, well, sometimes that happens!
If you know anyone, please email me!! I can get a job description to them if needed but, suffice it to say, the work is hard but fun and the pay is good along with great bennies.
That's it for now-- I'm too hot to sit at the computer and too bored with anything else. I'm going to take a shower and read a book, I think.
Have a great evening!
Monday, April 19, 2004Allergies
I've developed an allergy to my computer-- just for the weekends-- it seems. I just didn't have time to go near it except to check my email!!
Well, Saturday started with a trip to the salon to get my hair taken care of and then, we went to the nursery to get some bushes. I spent about 5 minutes in between working on a sewing project I have but that was all the sewing I did for the weekend!
Later on Saturday evening, we went to Patty & Mike's for dinner and had fun at their house. They have Toby & Maggie and Toby is quite a sweetie-- he loves Auntie Marcia cuz I gave him a WHOLE cracker!! He apparently only gets corners from his Mom!!
Sunday, I went to church at the Methodist church. I was raised as a church-goer and enjoy it when the theology is right. Well, the theology and the church that I'm attending have to be right. The Methodist church wasn't it. I'm going to go back to the church that I went to when my sister was here-- I really liked it and, who knows, maybe it'll work out.
Late Sunday morning, Brian and I worked at the front yard. I was responsible primarily for the bulb planting and the daffodil pulling that was taking place due to the rip-out of the boxwood. The mailbox area has a mound of dirt with decorative grasses and daffodils in it so I spent about an hour digging the bulbs out of that, too.
When I was finished with my part of the above, I went into the house and cleaned up the kitchen and moved the laundry downstairs. I meant to take a nap but never got around to it because of the heat.
Oh, yeah-- the heat has kicked in good and proper!! So far, it doesn't feel terribly humid but it is definitely HOT!! Today, there's a breeze here in Bowie but there wasn't much of a breeze near my office-- for a change!
Well, I'm off to do some sewing-- I've already worked on the ornaments that I'm painting for my sister in Brazil. Don't forget to check out the "Visiting the Nation's Hometown" that is the trip report from my sister's visit!!
Have a good evening!
