Pat's Quilt

Pat is my good friend in California-- we actually haven't known each other very long (only 6 years) but we became very dear friends very quickly.  We were shopping buddies from the start and shared a lot of interests.  Our friendship, despite the miles, is solid-- emailing each other constantly and calling whenever time zones and sleeping hours present the possibility.

The construction of the quilt began with the "Log Cabin Block" and then, I laid the blocks out in what I think resembles an "old fashioned" style.

This time, unlike any other time, I used my embroidery unit to "quilt" Pat's quilt.  I have a set of designs that are strictly for quilting and, using embroidery floss that matched the colors of the quilt, I completed the designs: a gold eliptical design on all of the blocks and on the other joints, I used a burgery and green heart design.

I also created an inscription for the naming of this quilt with my embroidery machine-- I hadn't done that before because this is the first quilt that I completed since owning it.  Something about "Our friendship being as solid as the Log Cabin Blocks of which it was made".

I'm sure it is, too.
