Well, whether we like it or not, Christmas is coming . . . eventually. It will arrive and, when it does, I don't want to be scrambling trying to put presents together and go shopping and making quilts for friends and family. As a result, I have to admit, I've already gotten started and, will put some pictures up here for now but move those next week (or whenever the next set of photos go up) to a page that I'll keep updated separately with photos of new Christmas projects.
The
first picture (on the left) is a picture of a quilt that I made by framing
a dish towel that was given to me as a "gift" last year. I'm not
sure that I like the border on this yet-- I'm still working on it in my
head. It does draw out the off-white colors in the towel but
I'm thinking its too light to work as the border. I'll think on it
for awhile and let you know how it develops. I don't have a backing
for it yet so I won't be quilting it until I have that; it is my intention
to outline the different animals and shapes in addition to doing some stitching
in the borders.
This
picture (on the right) is a framed cross-stitch that I stitched over the
course of the past five years. It has always been my intention to
frame it by quilting something so I guess its a good thing that I started
quilting! The border is also the backing fabric. I'll quilt
this by outlining some of the designs inside of the cross-stitch as well
as the borders.
